"Pay's great, yeah." Hierakos gestures to Gabrielle as he turns to head down stairs toward a transport station. "The security's more important, though. Got a... second cult of sorts after my spear, but they can't actually do anything as long as Reliquia itself has my back. Thankfully."

"Just how unlucky do you have to be to get dragged into dealing with the shit of two different cults?" Gabrielle asked incredulously, wilfully ignoring that the ones dragging him into anything involving the second cult was everyone but himself. "I'll try not to look like a creeper with your spear then, y'know, staring at it and shit. It'll be hard though, now that I know it's especially shiny or whatever fucks like that want it for," she added jokingly.

She headed over to one of the automated ticket machines and punched it a couple times in specific places.

"Come the fuck onnnn," she muttered, jerking the handle. A ticket popped out and she stepped aside for Hierakos, only then realised she'd just stolen a ticket on reflex in front of a guard.

...she wasn't going to say it until he did.

"Second one's... a long story. A very long one." Horus steps forward to simply flash identification for his ticket, and then stops as he realizes what Gabrielle had just managed. "...Wait, is it really that easy to just take a ticket? Geez, those guys need to get off their asses about this kind of thing. But eh. We're on important business here."

And then something strikes him and he blushes. "W-wait, hold on, no, I don't get paid like that!"

Gabrielle could have kissed him for not giving a shit about the ticket thing except not because they were busy, thank you very much but no thank you. So she settled for punching his arm lightly before heading for the turnstiles to reach the monorail.

"Damn, guess that's my negotiation plan out the window," she teased, though good-naturedly. "I'm all out of ideas now."

"Ow!" Hierakos rubs his shoulder, but chuckles and grins at her. Perry, on the other hand, turned its piercing glare on Gabrielle. "Nah, I think you're fine with convincing people. Not sure what you'd use that to negotiate, anyways."

Gabrielle pushed through the turnstiles, then leant against it while waiting.

"I've heard it's effective," she said with a shrug. "Not that I know exactly, but if some guy acts dumb, it's usually because he's thinking with his... spear."

She paused.

"You would not believe me if I told you that there's people who think 'I'm in a cult' is a good pick-up line. Just saying. I'm not sounding very professional, am I?"

"Especially if alcohol is involved, yeah." Hierakos slumps back against the wall beside Gabrielle, and smirks at her. "So now I know to be careful if you offer me a drink."

He shrugs. "Who cares about being professional right now? As long as we aren't making a scene, it's all good."

"Don't worry, I enjoy drinking too much to ruin the sanctity of it with weird shit or murder," Gabrielle said good-naturedly as she took a small box out of her pocket, flipped it open, and started to roll a quick cigarette with the contents.

"Before we go, what're you good at exactly? Any, uh, light and sunshine stuff?"

She gestured to her pale eyes; they were the silvery shade considered lucky by Stygians, but apparently luck did not include 'can handle brightly lit anything with grace and ease'.

"I'm not so good with bright lights if I don't know to expect them," she explained. Well, half-explained. He didn't need to know about... other things. "So I just need to know so I can get out of the way or whatever."

Hierakos stared into Gabrielle's eyes a moment longer than he probably should have before nodding and gesturing to the spear. "Yeah, I do. Horus Convent is named for a paganish sun god they took to after the Deicide, and so they blessed Saqr to allow it to draw in sunlight, and then unleash it. It's not very bright at all when it's charging, but when I release it..."

He winces. "Yeah, you'd probably better look away."

Gabrielle took a drag of her cigarette and flicked the ash in the general direction of a bin.

"Requesting permission to cower behind you best I can and yell 'go get 'em, honey!' when you do."
