Hood covering her head and shading her face, Cassidy makes her way down a main street of Reliquia's seventh circle. One hand digs in her pocket, simply grasping and turning over the gemstone within again and again. A stone that can stop time? Awesome!

But she can't help feel a bit disappointed. After all, she'd needed to give up that amethyst for it. Something she had stolen, fair and square. And that goddamn bastard Levy had given her no choice in the matter. She needed something to make up for it, dammit.

So her well-trained eyes darted about as she traveled, taking in quick profiles of all the people she saw along the way. A few looked quite tasty... but no, not good enough. She needed something amazing to feel better about being swindeled out of that amethyst.

And then she saw it. A brilliant gem adorning a ring on a raven-haired woman's finger. And that woman looked quite sickly, too. Easy pickings, no doubt. She smirked to herself and leaned back against a wall, an eye on her mark. Just had to wait to get away from everyone else...

Heartbeats rang out in a collective percussive symphony around her. Small. quick, erratic heartbeats like the beats of a kettledrum, slow, deep, booming heartbeats like a gong...all coming together and boring into her head.

It was the sun. The light's rays always made her hungry. Nothing she couldn't handle, but when she was tired and hadn't fed for a while, those heartbeats rang out louder than most conversation.

Relia rubbed her forehead a little as she continued down the street. Something was happening in this city. Her city. Something was stirring. Maybe it was Leviathan. Maybe it was something for Damien and his political nuance to handle. Regardless, it was something to be ready for.

She rubbed her thumb over her three wedding rings. One Ruby. One Sapphire. One Amethyst.

Relia looked to the world like she was completely lost in her thoughts....however...

Hmm... I wonder how good this one thinks they are

She had heard of various pickpockets and thieves roaming Reliquia's streets. Never experienced it herself but the steady calm heartbeat and intent in the air seemed obvious.

What better way to engage a trap than to spring it knowingly?

She was confident in her abilities. Turning down an alleyway which coincidentally was also the way to her shop, Relia Tepes waited for her pursuer to follow her inside.

Cassidy stalked Relia down through the alleyway, doing her best to stay out of sight while keeping on eye on her prey. It was a precise dance, but one the thief was well accustomed to. And by all appearances, it was a successful one; the woman stepped inside a building, and Cassidy grinned, knowing she was cornered.

But still she moved with caution, scouting all corners of the outside of the house for any place she could be ambushed from. Unlikely, but given the shit she'd been through, she was unwilling to take any chances. But no, as usual, there didn't appear to be anything lurking about. Time to move in.

After stopping outside the door and waiting a good amount of time, Cassidy took a deep breath and reached for the door. To her surprise and delight, it was unlocked. She drew her knife, charged in, and slammed the door shut behind her. "Alright, you! Hand over those rings of yours!"

As Cassidy would burst through the door, instead of being greeted by a surprised looking woman, shocked by her entry and quivering at the sight of that knife....instead she found Relia seated in a fairly comfortable looking arm chair, sipping out of a wineglass (with some strange looking "red wine" if she was being honest), facing directly towards the door.

"If I had to comment on your execution, I would say that your ability to hunt is possibly one of the best I have seen for a long time. Caution, adaptation..." She commented, pouring some more drink for herself out of a crystal decanter. "However, it could still use some work, if I were to be honest."

Sipping some more of the liquid (did she look less sickly now? And she couldn't have looked older than mid twenties whereas before it could have been sworn that she was mid forties), Relia arched an eyebrow as she matched Cassidy's gaze. Funny, in this light her eyes appeared almost red.

"You're not getting my rings, dear." It wasn't a declaration, more of a simple fact, as if telling a child the sky was blue. "You're too beautiful to throw your life away and I do so hate having to punish blondes."

She gave a soft sigh at this.

"Always my favourite hair colour."

Cassidy balks, but just for a moment after Relia falls silent. This bitch. She snorts and steps closer, but now her free hand digs about her pocket. "Yeah, you think? Try me, bitch!”

She takes two steps deeper into the shop and stops, eying Relia for her next move.

Relia just raised an eyebrow in response.

"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Honestly, the least you could do is introduce yourself."

She sipped more "wine" as Cassidy approached, though her eyes did linger on Cassidy's pocket.

Possibly a secret weapon...or just trying to distract me from the knife.

"Well? Go on. You've come this far. Either follow through or give up now."

"Tch. Yeah, you got it!" Cassidy finds the gem in her pocket she was looking for, and sends a spark of magic through it. At once, her speed increases dramatically, and her blade goes straight for Relia's throat. "Eat shit!"

She's fast. Too f-

The knife slammed into Relia's throat, instantly severing her windpipe and allowing blood to spill down the blade. Eyes wide, she gurgled a little, one hand reaching up to weakly push at the blade...before it fell limp by her side, skin paler than ever.

"...Yep. That's what you get, you condescending bitch." Cassidy scowls at the blood running down her hand and along the handle of her knife. Probably would be best to wash that off before heading back out. But first, time for the prize.

"You know, it didn't have to come to this..." Cassidy kneels down and stretches out for one of the rings on the limp hand.

The corpse lay flat against the chair as Cassidy started to remove Relia's rings. The woman was unresponsive, cold to the touch. Completely silent. No one could survive a knife to the throat. No o-

"Time dilation. Impressive."

The knife clattered to the floor. Without Cassidy removing it.

When she looked up, she'd see two eyes staring down. Red Eyes.

After a horrific gurgling sound, the throat wound slowly began to repair itself, sinew and flesh knitting together. Relia's skin wrinkled slightly, going from looking like bloodstained youthful 19 year old to looking like a bloodstained 30 year old...

"Rings. Return them. Now Please." The voice wasn't angry, but firm.
