All color drained from Cassidy's face as she peered into those wrathful eyes, rooted to the spot in terror. What the fuck? She had stabbed this woman right through the throat! How the hell was she still alive, let alone speaking?

...A trick. Of course. No one could have survived that. So time to get gone already. Cassidy snarled and flipped the woman off with her free hand, a yellow gem glittering in her hand. "Fuck off."

With a magic surge, everything around Cassidy fell completely still. Frozen. But of course; she now existed outside of time, if only briefly. Five seconds was her limit, if her toying with Aurora beforehand had been any indication, and that was really only enough to get a head start on getting out of dodge here. One ring still in hand, she turned and bolted back for the alleyway. She didn't even bother hiding her face again; somehow she got the feeling she would never deceive her victim with it.

She only just had time to step outside, not even bothering to slam the door behind her, before the time stop ended. At once, fatigue plagued her. But she couldn't stop now. She didn't want to know what this woman was capable of.

One instant, the blonde was there, the next she was gone. It hadn't been a rush of movement, there was no displacement of air, just an almost teleportation like instant movement. Combined with her earlier assumption about how she increased her speed...

More Time Dilation. And if I were a betting woman, she's going to be fairly tired. She was panicked by my appearance that time and if she wanted to, she could have stopped time with that initial stab. But she didn't. So it must be a last resort and last resorts are such for a reason.

Managing to muster the strength to touch at her throat with her hand, Relia gave another racking cough, a few drops of blood splattering from the hole in her neck until it fully closed itself. That one may smart for a few days it seemed. What was more important was the ring that the thief had took.

Karina's...

Frowning, the raven haired woman reached for the glass that had fallen during Cassidy's attack...and drained the remainder of the contents before striding out towards the door. She had a thief to catch...

Huffing and sweating, Cassidy barrels down the street as fast as her fatigue-weighed body would drag her. Her knife, stained red, shone in the sunlight, driving any passersby away. She glances back to see Relia stepping out of her shop. Shit, already?

Still, she figures she has the advantage: a head start and impressive speed. Surely she can outpace whatever that woman is, right?

Why exert energy? She could track a singular heartbeat all day and that thief's was beating like a big brass band. All she had to do was follow it at her own pace. And when she found the girl...

I'll have to be careful. The time dilation effect seemed connected to that gem she had in her hand...though she has potential. A ruthlessness that may be useful if properly aimed.

Locking up behind her, Relia began to walk down the street, wiping her mouth and trying to clear away most of the blood that had spilled from her throat. She had a few questioning looks, but what with Cassidy's earlier mad dash down the street with a bloody knife, those who had remained knew to not ask questions and forget what they saw already.

But I think she deserves a little punishment for taking Karina's ring away from me. A bit of a scare and lesson on who exactly she's stealing from might suffice.

Closing her eyes and locating the thief's heartbeat was a trifle...ah, there it was. Trying to throw off a scent, surely, but darting this way and that but ultimately heading towards...where else? A bar. Well, Relia knew the direct route there.

With a small step into an alleyway and a leap up to the tall building's roof....Relia began to flit her way across rooftop to rooftop.

Time for a drink. And not the usual kind.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She sat herself down at the bar, directly where the door would open and see her. Ordering a Bloody Mary, more for effect than anything else, Relia just sat and waited for that thief to come through the door.

And three, two, one...

Cassidy bursts through the door, exactly as Relia had predicted. "Hey! Your strongest shit, right-"

Then she notices Relia, seated exactly where she had planned to flop over at. She just blinks twice. "...Screw it."

The door slams shut as Cassidy races off the other way.

Relia debated whether or not to pursue the blonde their again. Clearly, she had the upper hand here and the more out of her comfort zone her assailant was, the better.

However, she did have a drink ordered.

Hmm.

Paying the barman what he was due and then saying it was for the young lady at the other end of the bar, Relia made her decision.

Time for another short chase.

Cassidy turns back and growls at the woman. Of course she would give chase. Time to make sure she would never do so again. She turns down an alleyway, but rather than run down its length, she turns about with her back to the wall and waits for the moment in which Relia would turn the corner. Crystal in hand.

Her heartbeat has steadied. She's determined to do something about me now. And in another secluded alleyway? Dear me, choose your locations better, child.

Rather than turn the corner, instead Relia hung back, leaning against the wall by the alleyway and called out to the blonde.

"Your evasion skills are not half bad. You need a little help when it comes to predictability but that cones with practice and experience. But you've made a mistake in choice of prey this time. Give me the ring back, child. That's all I ask. Then I'll let you drink yourself into oblivion so you can forget the image of my throat knitting itself back together, hmm?"

Cassidy glares for several moments, thumbing over her jewel. Now what? Go around the corner and confront this bitch? Maybe. "You can just tell where I am, can't ya? You put a tracking spell on me or something?"

She inches closer to the turn.

"Heartbeat, actually. If you must know." The vampire replied honestly. "Yours is a strong one. Easy to pick out amongst the crowd. Not necessarily a bad thing either."

Her accent was rich, long forgotten but with an air of nobility. Along with utter calm.

"Don't do anything foolish. That time dilation spell drains you, doesn't it? Save it for a time to save your life, don't waste a use on an old woman like me, child."
