Applying for a Staff/Teacher Position, Routledge University has a lot of positions from major teachers to assorted staff across campus. The place isn't huge, but it's often more than a handful of admin players can all juggle alone. As such, we're not instantly opposed to players wanting to make teacher characters. There's just a catch. All teacher characters/accounts are Global Moderators for the board. Thus, if a player is going to make and play a teacher, they will be a mod. This means we can't just let players freely make staff characters, as that could push things into a real of being out of hand very quickly. So we've set out some ground rules and things to meet before a player is able to apply to make a teacher character. - A player must have at least one student character that they've played for at least a month in real time. This helps prove they're reliable and give us an idea of what the person is like as a writer and a player ooc. - A player cannot have three or more student characters and make a teacher character on top of it. I know people can handle different loads of things to do across characters, but that's just too much. Playing a teacher and being a mod are a huge responsibility and will take monumentally more time and effort than playing a student character. We need to know you won't make one then back out when it gets to be too busy, or let your other characters suffer for it- especially if other players are in plots with your students. Be fair to everyone else, and know when something is more than you can handle. - A player must be active in ooc chats somewhere in the board before applying to make a teacher. This assures that a player is active, and helps us see how they interact with others ooc and are likely to handle problems. Being a mod means we may rely on them to solve problems and help run things, so knowing we can do so it important. - A player cannot have a leave/return in the last month, and a leave/return will count as breaking the chain of playing a character for at least a month prior to applying to make a teacher. This is because we need mods who are around often, and it wouldn't help us fill teacher spaces if the person playing the teacher isn't often around to play them. You don't need to devote your life to the board and playing on it, but at least a solid month of activity reassures us you'll be reliable as a staff character for others to interact with and run events with. If you feel you meet all the criteria and want to apply as a teacher/staff character (and thus apply for a position as a global moderator) please post a reply to this thread or mention this to someone in the Mod Chatterbox area. |
