[ ESTHER TRIGGS ]

(Enthusiastic) - (Focused) - (Daring) - (Proud) - (Sheltered)

||Summarized||

Though Esther's family was supportive, she did not connect very well in school. She came across as strange and obsessive, prone to talking anyone's ear off for as long as they would listen. It bothered her when she was younger, but Esther found a few key friends by high school. Their support made all the difference, giving her the confidence to really pursue demonic studies.

In general, she is a bright eyed, cheerful young woman. If a stranger said hello on the street, she'd reply in kind. There is a small part of her that assumes every interaction is an inconvenience to the other party, even when she doesn't initiate contact. It's an insecurity that Esther is aware of and wrestles with fiercely.

In class, she is the model student. Or, attempts to be, anyhow. Academics have always been her strong suit, so Esther takes it personally when she struggles. There's a ferocity to her work that is especially obvious when she has someone to compete against.

||Easy Places To Find Them||

(Class schedule TBA)

Whenever Esther has free time, she finds it soothing to go exploring the hiking trails in the nearby forest. She ventures offtrail at times to chase down the exciting new fauna of the region. These distractions do cause her to get lost on occasion, but so far she's never been foolish enough to roam too far alone.

If the weather is disagreeable, it's a fair bet that Esther will be in the Duval Building's library. She's fond of taking pen and paper notes, if allowed, and frequently claims sprawling territory with her amassed books. If books are allowed to be borrowed, Esther will certainly squirrel away as many as possible for midnight perusal.

Whenever the opportunity strikes, Esther is quick to make a visit to Routledge and Louisville. She likes to indulge in restaurant meals, unnecessary shopping, poking around in museums and exploring the Louisville Zoo. Company is appreciated, if unexpected.

||Suggested Ideas||

Period of Adjustment
This is the first time Esther's been away from home on her own for more than a couple nights. It's fairly obvious to the casual observer that she misses home, the ocean, the entertainment, the sunny weather- everything seems different here. Few things seem objectively better.

Any character might overhear her grumbling at any point in the day. Anyone taking a trip to Routledge or Louisville would definitely be begged for a ride, professor and student alike. She's not going to take "no" for an answer. If she has to resort to less appealing transportation, she'll try to coax more people into coming along for moral support.

More Like Guidelines
While not a delinquent student by nature, Esther has no problem ignoring certain rules to sate her curiosity. Keep out signs are more like reminders to proceed with caution. Students who want to rope her into exploring forbidden areas would likely succeed with a sufficiently persuasive goal. Esther might be tempted to recruit a friend into her own rule-bending adventures once they are better acquainted.

Worthy goals can be many things! Investigating tantalizing rumors, getting a peek of something unusual, or even just finding a private place to try out a new trick.

A Whole Can of Worms
Esther has a whole crate of journals (plus a few harddrives) containing any little snippets she finds interesting. It's not actually all about the supernatural, though that is the main focus. Older journals have wildly inaccurate drawings, terrible handwriting, and far too many personal diary entries. In short, they're mortifying.

They're more nostalgic than helpful, horribly outdated, but Esther loves them dearly. And no one needs to look at them. Ever. Perhaps she mistakenly brought one to class. Or is frantically searching for one that got misplaced. Or her roommate can't contain their curiosity about her excessive library.

||Other Notes||

Esther is used to being the only person in her circle of friends who has studied anything close to Routledge's curriculum. She's going into this assuming her prior knowledge will be impressive and praised.

Hey there, I'm finally settled at home enough to give this all a once over, so here's some ideas for stuff across my two teacher characters with Esther. (I have a student on the way she'll likely have more fun with, but the profile's still in progress, oops)

--Six
Given that she's an invoker, that's an obvious in for her and Six to interact. She can come to him for advising if there's ever a question or concern- academically and as a sort of guidance counselor. Six also swings by the library from time to time, so he could spot her there and strike conversation since she's so determined in her studies. For a more immediate interaction, she could look up the teachers and schedule and aim to take one of Six's tours for the orientation since he's the head of her major.

--Aeronwyn
For Aeronwyn, I suppose it comes down heavily to Esther's opinion of witchcraft and witches in general. Aero is a frequent face around the library, but she tends to leave students alone out of concern of scaring them off given the stigma of her new position and magical abilities. If there are any of her classes Esther might take, that could also be a potential point.
