History:
The Ignomus House is a relatively young house, finding its origins forty-three years back when the now senile Anton Schiffeld was appointed a Nobleman by the reigning King of the time, as a reward for his glorious deeds on the battlefield in the Kings service.

Anton always led his house with a strong but just hand, relying on his reputation as a general to keep the loyalty of his soldiers and his people. He didn't have much to do with diplomacy though, and the house never grew to be more than just another one in the long list of noble houses.

That is, until Karl Schiffeld took over the reign of his father at the age of seventeen, some six years back now. Quite unlike his father, Karl was never much of a soldier. He preferred the silence of his study over the din of battle. Despite their differences Karl had always been Antons favourite (and oldest) son.

Under Karl's reign diplomatic ties with their neighbours were strengthened and investments were made to increase the overall quality of life in the estate. As it stands the House appears to be heading for at least more fame amongst the Reisig population, but whether this is for the good or the bad remains to be seen.

Traditions:
Due to its relative youth the Ignomus House is not yet rich on traditions. Having started out as a military-based House though, its soldiers pride themselves in their skill. Even more so than those of most other houses. They typically wear ornamental clothing in the yellow and blue puffy sleeves that are characteristic for the House. They are trained to fight both on foot and from metal-barded warhorses, being armed to the tooth in both situations (full plate armour, shields, spears and longswords).

Religion is widespread throughout the estate of Ignomus House. Shrines and temples can be found throughout the estate. Both Anton and Karl attend the masses in the temple loyally on a weekly basis. The priest presiding over the sermons is a long-time friend of the Ignomus House, and has filled an advisory role in the estate for all matters religious for as long as anyone can remember.

Leader:
The current leader of the Ignomus House is, as has been noted, Karl Schiffeld. He's 23 years young and at the prime of his life. Even though he is not much of a warrior himself, he has inherited the strength and toughness of his father, Anton Schiffeld, who was a renowned general in his day. Karl has also been blessed with a great mind though, which has led to him being more of a scholar than a warrior.

Karl is often described as silent and calculating, observing before acting. When he acts though there is not a doubt in his actions. If he sets his mind to something, he will see it done in one way or another. When involved in a battle Karl will usually not be found on the frontlines, instead leading and commanding his troops. He has a strong tactical mind, which has been nourished and trained by his father for many years. When forced to fight though he can stand his ground against most foes.

Over the years Karl has learned to honour his diplomatic ties. Allies are invaluable in the ever shifting tides of power. He will do his best to gain more allies, as well as stand by his current allies through thick and thin.

Karl is the oldest son of the Schiffeld nest, preceding his 2 brothers and 3 sisters. With his father unable to utter understandable sentences and his mother long dead, Karl has taken it upon himself to look after his family. His family means everything to him and he will typically go out of his way to protect them from harm. So far his oldest brother Bart is the only one of the six siblings to have been married, choosing to marry one of the village girls and thereby distancing himself from any claim to the estate should anything befall to Karl. This makes the third brother Ton the second in line until Karl gets a son of his own.
