Heeee's Back! A record I thought wouldn't be broken for awhile didn't even last a month. Eugene's Islanders showed their not dead, not even close, by putting 126 points on the board! Congrats on the new record! As you could guess New York dominates the awards: Goalie: Carey Price - New York Islanders 3W 1SHO 14 Fantasy Points Forward: Jori Lehtera - Edmonton 4G 2a +5 11.23 Fantasy Points Defense: Kevin Shattenkirk - Philadelphia 5A +6 10.32 Fantasy Points Rookie: Filip Forsberg - New York Islanders 2G 3A 9.14 Fantasy Points Team: New York Islanders - 126 Fantasy Point (New Record) Week 6 saw a couple of revenge games as both the Islanders and Lighting avenged earlier losses to divisional foes. The Isles lit up the scoreboard with an impressive performance over their cross town rival: the Rangers 126-58. The Islanders were led by the award winners above but also had some youngers players step up with Nick Bjugstad, Jake Muzzin, and Cody Franson each adding 9 point a piece. New York's prize for the new scoring record: Philadephia who moved to 6-0 with another impressive performance. Our featured matchup saw the Lightning beat the Senators to get back into the Atlantic Division race. Tampa finally saw their big offseason acquisition of Henrik Lundqvist pay off by giving them 11 points. Mike Hoffman(?) led the offense for the Bolts with 3 goals. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the matchup between two of the DOHFL best franchises, Minnesota and Phoenix. This matchup was tight all week with the Coyotes finally prevailing on Sunday. Both teams have had slow starts, but you can bet they'll be right there when the playoffs begin. We stay out west for this week's featured matchup as the division leading Wings face off with the Oilers. Marc-Andre Fleury and the emergence of Vladimir Taresenko have led to a 5-1 record. Edmonton counters Taresenko's friend Jori Lehtera who has over 30 points. I think everyone will also be keeping an eye on Islanders-Flyers too! Can New York take down the new "Legion of Doom"? |
