And then there were none. Seven weeks in and no more undefeated teams as the Islanders continued their resurgence besting the Flyers 112-100. Goaltending led New York as Carey Price and Cory Schneider put up a combined 21 points. Philadelphia showed they are definitely a cup favorite by putting up triple digits in the loss. Goalie: Carey Price - New York Islanders 2W 1SHO 11 Fantasy Points Forward: Jamie Benn - Dallas 3G 3A +5 11.52 Fantasy Points Defense: Sami Vatanen - Ottawa 1G 4A 11.12 Fantasy Points Rookie: Markus Granlund - Winnipeg 3A +3 5.74 Fantasy Points Team: New York Islanders - 112 Fantasy Points Shhh! Don't look now but the Red Wings are 6-1! I guess they were in Philly's shadow, but they haven't lost since opening week. Detroit got by Edmonton 72-62, the Wings have flown on backs of Marc-Andre Fleury who added another 9 points to his impressive total. Jaden Schwartz led the offensive attack with a goal and two assists. Edmonton hung in with Corey Crawford posting two wins. Ottawa put up an impressive 107 points to get back to the top of the Atlantic Division in a win over Boston. Dallas ended a losing streak by nipping St. Louis 75-72 to tie them at the top of the Central division. This week's highlighted matchup brings us to us to the "Big Apple" as the Rangers look to make it a New York double against the Flyers. Philadelphia has been the DOFHL's best team so far, led by Pekke Rinne in net. The Rangers currently are 4th in the tough Metropolitan division but that is no fault of Rick Nash who has posted 41 points. Another interesting matchup is a crossover as those red hot Wings take on 5-2 Pittsburgh. |
