The Detroit Red Wings must be on top of Santa's list as not only did they win again, but put up 110 points in the process. The "Winged Wheel" took down Minnesota thanks to great efforts from who else Marc-Andre Fleury and Brent Seabrook. Detroit also takes over top spot in the league at 9-2. On to the awards dominated by those Wings and Dallas. Goalie: Marc-Andre Fleury - Detroit 3W 1SHO 15.5 Fantasy Points Forward: Anze Kopitar - Dallas 1G 8A 15.21 Fantasy Points Defense: Brent Seabrook - Detroit 1G 4A 10.85 Fantasy Points Rookie: Michael Hutchinson - Dallas 1W .968SV% 9.5 Fantasy Points Team - Detroit 110 Points Our highlighted matchup was St. Louis and Winnipeg in a Central division battle. Ryan Getzlaf and Derek Stepan wouldn't be denied posting a combined three goals and three assists in the 94-88 win for the Blues. Winnipeg had and outstanding week in net with Roberto Luongo and young Calvin Pickard combining for 23 points. Elsewhere I was the latest victim of our matchups decided by less than a point in losing to Edmonton 68.6 to 68.2, while the Blackhawks slipped by the Coyotes by 4 points. Our holiday edition of the game of the week brings us to Montreal as Ottawa comes calling. Both teams find themselves a game back of division leader Buffalo in the Atlantic. The Canadians as always are led to Tuukka Rask in net, while the Senators have enjoyed the great play of their young star Sami Vatanen on the blueline. I'd also like to take this time to wish all of my friends in DOFHL land a very safe and happy holiday season! |
