Well everyone the trade deadline has come and gone, in total 21 players and 5 draft picks were dealt over the past two weeks. Now we wait to see if the contenders improved themselves enough at the deadline to make a run at the Cup! Our "game of the week" was tight throughout the week but Ottawa pulled away from Montreal for an 87-63 win. The Senators were led by their rising star Branden Holtby, but also got great weeks from Jason Spezza and Sami Vatanen each with over eight points. The Habs got a great effort from Joe Pavelski in the loss. With the win, Ottawa moves into a first place tie with Buffalo, and the Canadians fall a game back in the division.

Interesting week in the awards categories with some "new blood" shining:

Goalie: Devan Dubnyk - Phoenix 2W 2SHO 14 Fantasy Points!

Forward: Bryan Little - Pittsburgh 3G 3A 11.56 Fantasy Points

Defense: Seth Jones - Detroit 2G 2A 10.75 Fantasy Points

Rookie: Petr Mrazek - Chicago 2W 1SHO 13 Fantasy Points

Team: New York Islanders - 119 Fantasy Points

Our featured matchup this week takes us to the Metropolitan division. Two red hot teams battle in Philadelphia and the Islanders. The Flyers have won six straight while New York has won three in a row. This very well could be a preview of the Eastern Conference final. Two MVP and Vezina candidates face off in net in this one as well as Pekke Rinne and Carey Price get together.
