#3 Philadelphia 15-7 vs #6 Pittsburgh 11-11

Season Series: Philadelphia 3-1
Week 2: Philadelphia 83-75 Pittsburgh
Week 9: Philadelphia 131-100 Pittsburgh
Week 15: Philadelphia 118-87 Pittsburgh
Week 22: Pittsburgh 74-69 Philadelphia

Average Scoring
Philadelphia 94.84
Pittsburgh 78.75

Leading Scorers by position
Philadelphia:
Tyler Johnson 121.91 Fantasy Points
Andrei Markov 110.72 Fantasy Points
Pekke Rinne 163.5 Fantasy Points

Pittsburgh:
Bryan Little 106.65 Fantasy Points
Kris Letang 128.03 Fantasy Points
Jonathan Quick 131.5 Fantasy Points

Goaltending
Pekke Rinne was running away with the Hart and Vezina before missing time with an injury, he is back and remains solid in goal but is not picking up the wins like earlier in the season. Pittsburgh has been riding Jonathan Quick all season, Ondrej Pavelec could be a wildcard if he is given the net. Edge: Philadelphia

Forward
The Flyers get Tyler Seguin back from an injury just in time for the playoffs, he will team with Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat to form one of the best lines in the DOFHL. Pittsburgh comes in battered and bruised up front with star Patrick Kane out, and Bryan Little is day to day. The Pens will need huge efforts from Jeff Carter and Brad Marchand to keep pace. Edge: Philadelphia

Defense
Kris Letang has been outstanding this season for the Penguins, but all of a sudden Kris Russell has stepped up his offensive game in the absence of Trevor Daley. Philadephia has been led by Andrei Markov while Kevin Shattenkirk is on the shelf. Edge: Pittsburgh

Conclusion
This may seem like a mismatch on paper, but remember in the past month the Penguins have beaten both the Islanders and the Flyers. I believe this will be a close matchup, I think maybe one too many injuries for Pittsburgh to overcome. I will take the Flyers to advance.

#4 Ottawa 11-11 vs #5 Buffalo 11-11

Season Series: Ottawa 2-1
Week 5: Ottawa 84-71 Buffalo
Week 13: Buffalo 98-71 Ottawa
Week 20: Ottawa 108-91 Buffalo

Average Scoring:
Ottawa 81.73
Buffalo 79.66

Leading Scorers by position:
Ottawa:
Nicklas Backstrom 134.97 Fantasy Points
John Carlson 123.16 Fantasy Points
Braden Holtby 165.50 Fantasy Points

Buffalo:
Nick Foligno 121.81 Fantasy Points
Dustin Byfuglien 124.67 Fantasy Points
Antti Niemi 125 Fantasy Points

Goaltending
Interesting one here, because of injuries this basically comes down to a one on one matchup. Holtby for the Senators and Niemi for the Sabres. Edge: Ottawa

Forward:
Nicklas Backstrom and David Backes have been a great 1-2 punch for the Sens each with over 100 points. Buffalo counters with Nick Foligno who has had a career year and the captain Jonathan Toews who always steps it up this time of year. Edge: Ottawa

Defense:
The big news here is that Dustin Byfuglien is out for the Sabres, he has been their best player all season. Nick Leddy will step into his big shoes. Ottawa has been led by John Carlson, but don't sleep on T.J. Brodie who has upped his game in the absence of Sami Vatanen. The Senators blue line could be one of the hardest hit units by injuries in addition to Vantanen, Radko Gudas and Olli Maata are out for the season. Edge: Ottawa

Conclusion
One thing I know about this matchup is that it will be close, these teams are almost mirror images of each other. The one difference I see is in goal where Branden Holtby is turning in a breakout season. I will take the Senators to advance in a low scoring affair.
