#1 New York Islanders 15-7 vs #2 Montreal Canadians 13-9

Season Series: Montreal 1-0
Week 3 Montreal 82-74 New York

Leading Scorers by position
New York:
Ryan Kesler 111.16
Brent Burns 136.52
Carey Price 203

Montreal:
Joe Pavelski 134.73
Andrej Sekera 71.93
Tuukka Rask 162

Goaltending
Right now Cory Schneider is hot for the Islanders, and well Carey Price has been hot the whole season. Those two will be in net for New York with Kari Lehtonen waiting in the wings. Montreal's star is Tuukka Rask, but he has been outplayed lately by Karri Ramo. If Rask has a big week and Ramo's play continues Montreal could be returning to the Cup Final. I will go with the duo that are both in fine form. Edge: New York

Forwards
Joe Pavelski continues to tear the league up, but he is not the only one who has stepped his game up this spring. Two rookies have given the Canadians even more depth: Johnny Gaudreau and Victor Rask. The Islanders have a true playoff warrior in Ryan Kesler who led them to the win last week. Of course their is "Mr. Sunday" Derrick Brassard who seems to bring his best games at the end of the week. Montreal has such great depth with scoring all over the place. Edge: Montreal

Defense
Brent Burns has been one of the best players for 'Isles since he was acquired via trade. Marek Zidlicky is on quite an impressive run now, and the late season pickup Mark Streit can produce points in bunches. The Canadians defense is built with multiple category guys. Marc Methot and Cody Ceci have been playing well the last month. Edge: New York

Conclusion
Montreal finds ways to win, in fact they have done just that five times in a row. The Islanders have had Eugene pacing the floors on many a Sunday night. Two teams that just find ways to win. Another close one but I think this is the Islanders time to win the East.
