"The State of Hockey" is the place to be in the DOFHL as the Wild our your new DOFHL Cup Champions. A truly memorable performance led by their powerful offense. Minnesota captain and Conn Smythe Award winner John Tavares put on a show posting 4 goals and 5 assists, not to be outdone Kyle Turris and Jiri Hudler added a combined 5 goals and 11 assists. Maybe the key was Eddie Lack in goal who won 4 games and had a shutout. This was a matchup of two of the most consistent teams in the DOFHL, as Montreal was playing in back to back finals. Tuukka Rask posted 3 wins, but the star for the Canadians, was "Johnny Hockey" Johnny Gaudreau who had 3 goals and 3 assists. Both squads have tremendously bright futures with a lot of talent, I don't think anyone would be surprised to see these two back here next year.

Three Stars
3. Eddie Lack - Minnesota 16.5
2. Kyle Turris - Minnesota 16.69
1. John Tavares - Minnesota 16.78 (Conn Smythe Award)

Congratulations to all the GM's on making this a great season, and a great league. So glad you guys put up with my ramblings every week! Already looking forward to next season.

Minny demonstrated that the 3 headed goalie troika is not the ONLY way to build a championship team. SO strong with the skaters...just insurmountable. Should be an interesting offseason as other GMs jockey for that one move that they hope can put them on top.

Thanks Rich for the great recap and all your playoff previews.. well done ! And thanks for all the congratulations received from my fellow Diehard owners !

I'm very much looking forward to defending the title next season.. although watching the playoffs right now without worrying about the box scores is pretty cool too !
