If Dante believes the John Doe is a criminal, why wouldn't he order a DNA test and run it throught the system?

If Patrick mentions to Liz today that Robin left to save Sam then I think Liz is going to figure out it's Jason and keep quiet. If he doesn't tell her then I'm not sure.
If Patrick says he is in love with Sam but doesn't want to push her so he is willing to wait for her, I just don't know
Patrick isn't going to say he's in love with Sam.

Patrick's not in love with Sam. :crackingup And he doesn't have to be in love with her to want to let her take her time. That's a given. I'm interested in what he says about Robin in this little conversation. :popcorn

Yes. It is. And the writing has given a perfectly reasonable explanation. But it doesn't fit every agenda.
Reasonable explanation from Patrick's POV, when they get to Sam's POV she is going to see it differently
If Ron wants her too.

Is Jason's DNA in the system?

He was never a sex offender

Dante would need airquotes Jake's consent for that wouldn't he?

Oh please, lying to protect Robin. Lying so Sam won't suffer again. Both excuses to make Patrick look like some hero.
You don't have to accept the explanation that the writing is clearly giving if you hate Patrick and want to believe he's just an asshole who doesn't care about Robin or Sam and wants to get laid.
We see things differently. I don't believe he's lying to protect Robin or Sam. He's lying because he likes the way it's going with Sam. If he tells the truth it's over.

Dante doesn't trust amnesiac Jake. His medical exam shows he's been the victim of numerous gun shot wounds but his prints arent in the system. Dante tells Anna normal nice guys don't have half a dozen gun shot scars. Anna agrees that Dante should make it a priority to discover who Mr Doe is.
And Liz should recognize a couple of those gunshots.
