So that's why they constantly kissing ABC ass hmmmmmm..
GH people are the only ones giving them articles to fill their magazines and their blogs. That's how they make a living. Of course they will kiss their asses. The other 3 soaps could give a fuck what they write.
They don't deserve shit after the way they acted during the soap reboot fiasco.

I'm no fan of RC but Pratt's AMC was taking anosedive in ratings right into the crapper while RC's OLTL was gaing in ratings week after week until it was nipping on the heels of GH. Them's the actual facts of how god awful Pratt actually was and the hatchet job he did to AMC.

Put things in perspective.

OLTL had increased in ratings AFTER it was announced it would be cancelled. People returned at the end because they wanted to see how the show would close. AMC didn't get a year in advance announcement after cancellation. They were moved to a new studio, floundered and then replaced.

The actual facts are AMC wasn't this thriving and dramatic show before Pratt showed up. It was pretty shitty. It was close to OLTL level of writing. Pratt came on doing both headwriting and production. He had too much responsibility and his staff of writers couldn't take up the slack and carry the show.

Is Pratt to blame for how it was produced and written the last year and a half? Of course. But he wasn't the only one to blame.

Are you Pratt's boyfriend or his mother?
Hah! I'm just someone with an opinion. I don't think Pratt is the greatest soap writer, but I also don't believe in making him out to be the killer of soaps. I'll wait and see about the show.

Too simplistic for my taste to blame a single person for the death of a show. It's no different than watching crazies blame a couple or a character for bad ratings, or watching people claim GH is the best soap ever because a bunch of soap bloggers said so. I like to look at the whole picture.

Actually, OLTL was up in both viewers and demos when it was cancelled. You can look it up if you want. It's all archived at SON.
I have. We had this discussion when RC took over. OLTL goes up and down but was stuck in a certain total viewership. Neilsen ratings are also much more than the weekly rating points that are posted each week. You also have to look at the ever decreasing total viewership of daytime and how that affects the shares per week and per season.

IF OLTL, AMC were still on the air, they would most likely have the same viewership they did back then. By 2010 all soaps were dwindled down to their constant base of viewers. That's the real reason they were being cancelled. A stagnant number of people interested in a certain genre doesn't give the ABC shareholders % bumps every quarter.

Fuckers. All of them.
