I'm looking at the episode listing at come to the conclusion that BoG saga will conclude around episode 10-13 like a seasonal finale for summer anime. This means by prediction episode 14-17 will be slice of life episodes for support cast (if they're taking the BoG remake route) and Goku-Vegeta training with Whis. Of course there will be minor differences and continuity compared to RoF but overall the first 15-30 minute of the movie will be the same. Regardless if they time skip or jump right ahead to training. Meaning episode 18-26 might be retelling RoF. I'm doing some dates checks and let's say Frieza is brought back at episode 17. If no holidays and breaks. Then Frieza will debut in Super on October 31, 2015. Revival of F DVD-Blu Ray comes out in Japan October 7, 2015. http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2015/06/28/revival-f-japanese-home-video-release-details/ Is this even a smart business move? Toei will release a movie of something they'll get for free that same month. Let's say Frieza is brought back earlier. October 3, 10, 17, and 24 are the realistic dates for Frieza's Super (re)debut. Revival of F JUST came out worldwide and fresh in people's head. Do Toei think people aren't bootlegging Super? Let's ignore worldwide and think only Japan. October 7...will release the RoF movie. Maybe show it on TV(Don't know how TV works in Japan). But Super is showing the exact (with probably minor differences. As Super 5 had same storyboard and dialog as BoG) story but at a slower pace, inferior animation(most likely), different music, less hype, and lack of interest from the fans due to familiar plot. How is this smart on Toei's part? They're basically competing with themselves and just setting themselves up with less viewers OR less buy rate for the RoF DVD. Thoughts? |

This is a great move from a story perspective as I found the story of Resurrection 'F' trash. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the dialog and humor, Jaco was better in this movie than how he was in his manga imo, and I have yet to watch the sub version, but I'm praying Super rewrites some moments to be better, like (SPOILERS): Piccolo vs Shisami, what happened to Gohan's Ultimate state, the infamous laser rifle scene, Vegeta being offered to kill Goku......just a bunch of dumb stuff in the movie imo. |

Story wise yes. Business wise and TV ratings no. Revival of F have merchandize and so will Super. Most likely they'll compete and chose one but not both . |

I agree with Nicki Minaj. There are many people who haven't seen the movie yet. As soon as the movie comes out, the series ratings will go down. |

Its a dumb move to redo the movies when they are so new. I find it absolutely retarded and I've stopped watching super because of it. When they get to new stuff, I'll pick it up. |

Well Super's version of BoG has been better than the film so far imo, with better story flow and better angles and better moments (Vegeta vs Beerus was way better in Super than the film), so I think RoF will be the same. FnF was such an obvious cashgrab of a movie though, less than 6 months to make the film, a first time director in Yamamuro, a script by Toriyama which he called a memo which he thought would NEVER get published.... |

Why IS it a bad idea?..... Both movies were fine to me. Most complaints are simply plot-holes. Super plans to full them. (mostly) |

Not to mention I think the movie NEEDS a retelling, I personally found the movie to be pretty trash outside some snappy dialog and humor with Jaco and Freeza (have not watched the sub yet, I plan to soon when I can) |

Toei is absolute garbage and is currently humiliating the Dragonball Z franchise. They always have, with every new Toei movie released. The only times where new Z material was great was when Toriyama was 'HEAVY' involved. Unless he's glancing over the shoulders of his peers and making adjustments, everything is going to go to shit. They're going to spend a quarter of Super's entire rune re-telling what we always know and only spend 75 episodes debuting fresh material. This just seems lazy. Hence why us, Dragonball Z fans could definitely whip up something better and more thrilling than the garbage that's being released. |
