I dunno about you people but the last loot sharing sucked(see the person who took more than half of the loot and by the fact that this is a post adventure we couldn't take it back and those people who think that they do not need any loot). So I have an ideea of a system that will allow us to kinda "vote". This sistem will require the DM to post a bit more often than usual.

So here it is:

"The adventurers beat the crap out of their oponents and they discover a chest of loot." Here the DM describes the list of items and the number of gold pieces.
After finishing all this crap he writes:
BEGIN LOOT SHAREING:
here the DM ends his post.

Now the players come in play and post the list of items and next to each item the name of the character they think the item suits best. Example:

magic dagger - Shmogub
gold amulet - Blackmage
duskwood longbow - Gorador
mithril halberd - Kaleb Stonehammer
blah blah - blah blah

Good...after all players have posted this list with the items or a certain period of time(determined by the DM) has passed , the DM will close the loot sharing with a post that will contain: The items and their new possesors, the quantity of gold each player has recived(the DM will make sure the gold can be divided equally among adventurers) and a line that confirms the closing of the Sharing like this: "LOOT SHARING COMPLETED" or whatever.

So how does the voting sistem work?? Well like this: every player posts the list with: the name of the item and the name of the character they think that can use that item properly. After that, the character which got the most votes for an item recives that item. It may happen to find items that don't fit your character's class at all or another character recives two items from the loot and you get only gold out but the good DM WILL make sure you get your stuff later.
This system isn't perfect so if you hold a grudge agains one player you can forget to write his name and make sure that he doesn't get items. But in doing this you will be marked as a person who will certainly not participate in any further adventures. And I don't want to see crap like this: magic wand to the barbarian and great axe to the gnome mage...things like this will get you thrown out of the adventure in a heart beat.

I made this because looting is one of the things that make up a great part of any adventure. And because some of you decided to put fancy and moutful names to your items you think that you don't need better ones. Wrong! What kind of adventure is that in which everybody has powerful items from the start?? I'll tell you...a crappy one.
So I've said my part and my fingers hurt like hell because of all this writing. Now I wanna see some opinions or, even better, other systems for loot sharing that are better than this one. But the most important of all I wanna see the DM's opinion on this. So Galador please post.

Can people vote for themselves? :D I mean we have one bow-user..i think, and that person will have to vote someone else eventhough nobody except from him can use a bow?

Oh yeah...thanks for the reminder....I forgot about that....the answer: a big NO.
You cannot vote for yourself. But as I said vote wisely and not while holding grudges against a certain character. I say it would be funny to see the gnome mage with a great axe in his backpack but think of the poor barbarian picking his teeth with the magic wand...
Only one character is using a bow at this time ... may I remind you that elves can use bows with great skill regardless of their class. And fighters/barbarians can use them pretty well. If our thief already has a bow then why should he have two??...give it to the elven druid...or to me or to our dwarf fighter for example.

What's wrong with it?? Is there a golden rule book which says with big letters: Dwarves WILL not use bows?? Damn almost every fighter I've seen in certain video games was carrying a bow, a main weapon and a secondary weapon(usually a short sword or a dagger...you know...just in case).

Well, in which game have u seen a dwarf with a bow? They're more like melee fighters, or they use throwing axes, but i've never seen one with a bow...

You know...I can always start a NWN or NWN2 game with a dwarven bowman and then post a close screenshot of him/her.
