New Stuff:

Inventory: The inventory is limited. The limit depends on the kind of backpack your character has. I mean it has a limited number of spaces and each object occupies one of these spaces.

example: The backpack allows 10 spaces.
You are carrying: Bottle of water, Shield, Food Rations, Dagger. These are 4 occupied spaces. So 6 more objects can fit in your inventory.

Alignment shifts: Yeah we have some of those too. You can actually become a good Dark Knight if you play your cards right.
It's like this....during your adventures you will encounter different situations....the way you solve these situations will earn you evil points( represented as "-") or good points(represented as "+").
There are 3 alignments: good, neutral and evil. The alignment system works like this: you score good/evil points. when you reached a number of 5 evil/good points you shift your alignment like this: from evil to neutral, neutral to good and the opposite. but remember that you must keep the count of your alignment points like this in your signature(example): neutral+++, which means that your character is neutral but going toards good or neutral---- which means your character is neutral but very close to beeing evil.

Tactic battles(or at least a bit strategic): If you intend to go the dumb way by attacking a barbarian with your black mage in close combat don't be surprised of your death. And I wanna see some team work....warriors protecting mages and so on.

I'm going to say this once: You will start as newbies in the art of adventuring so I don't wanna see Book of the damned or staff of the elements or other spicy names for your objects. Along the adventure you will find epic items and develop awesome abilities but when creating a character.....avoid using spiced names.....it ruins the beginning.

About creating characters. It's just like in Darkness Spreading but I must note the following rule: THE BACKGROUND MUST BE AT LEAST 10 LINES!! If you can't come up with that much then your RP skills blow ass and need improvement and you cannot join. Try to make a character with your personality and you'll see that soon you'll be writing novels.

Try to post as much as possible to keep the adventure alive. I've seen on other RP forums that 15 year old kids come up with 5 posts per page of at least 15-20 lines each. If they can do it....so can you.. I don't care if your character is a loner and doesn't talk. You make up something to post because you've assumed this risk when you created the character.

And now seriously....I am looking for 4 or 5 members who CAN be active at least once per day.

Perks and drawbacks: each of your character MUST have at least three and maximum of five perks. Each perk consists in an advantage your character posseses such as beeing beautiful, or can be very persuasive or is tougher than normal or whatever....you choose here. Each perk must come with a drawback so you must have as many drawbacks. These are things that your character sucks at. These may be dumb, ugly, nimble, weakness to a certain element and so on....again your choice. But be advised.....the drawback must be as significant as your trait(you cannot say your character is strong as hell but has a scratch on his face).

Dialogue specials: when talking to NPCs you are able to use special speech skills such as persuading, bluffing, intimidating and so on. These deppend on your characters perks/drawbacks, background history, race and class(so a north dweller berserker can persuade almost nothing). In order to use such a skill...simply type [persuade] or [intimidate] or [bluff] (brackets must be present) in your dialogue and, depending on the factors I've named above, the result will be success or failure.

Map travveling: there is a world map. It's not big and it isn't made by me. Those that recongnize it (again) keep your mouth shut. The system is simple and the DM will mostly use it. There may be random encounters and you know the drill: kill whatever disturbed your journey and continue.

Invisible level up: you will get stronger as you beat the crap out of enemies that I can assure you.

Loot system: the DM will decide the loot for each member. You can trade with another player after the loot sharing if you wish.

Gender has a significan importance:.girls can cast magic with increased effect while boys can weild a sword much better. So girls are better mages and boys better fighters. But that doesn't mean there aren't male mages. It's just that the effect of a spell casted by a girl is a bit more powerful.

Starting alignment: all chars start as neutral. Don't worry evil doers or wanna-be paladins. You will get your desired alignment quite fast. biggrin.gif

Elements: here are a list of elements and the opposites:
Fire - Ice
Water - Lightning
Earth - Wind
Holy - Shadow
Use them to your advantage(example: using water based attacks and spells on a lightning monster will be really painful).

Shadow/Holy magic: WTF are these?? Simple....shadow magic is weakening magic(curse, slow, poison whatever and some damage spells here and there) and holy magic is based on buffs, but different than white magic( spells such as haste, bull's strenght, cat's grace can be found here and of course a few damaging spells).
Oh and in case you wonder...white magic means healing and protection spells.
Magics and examples of spells:
Black Magic: Fire based( fireball, burning hands, flaming arrow), Ice based(ray of frost, cone of cold, blizzard, ice storm), Water based(tidal cone, drown, water blast), Lightning based( lightning bolt, electric sphere, spark, chain lightning), Earth based(meteor, earthquake, stone bullet), Wind based(tornado, gust of wind, forcewave, wind wall).
White Magic: healing magic, protective magic(ethereal visage, invisibility, sanctuary, dispel, regenerate, restoration, ressurection, reflect magic)
Shadow Magic: curses( slow, drain strenght, drain dexterity, drain endurance, drain HP, shadow shield, poison, disease, darkness, dismissal), summons(outsiders which can be imp, mephit or hell hound when you're a newbie or vrock, devil or succubus when you know your stuff), damage spells(shadow burst, shadow ray, poison cloud).
Holy Magic: buff ups(haste, bull's strenght, cat's grace, bear's endurance, divine power, no fear, divine weapon, enlarge person), summons(outsiders which can be celestial animals when you're a newbie and hound archon, divine protector or Holy Avenger when you know your stuff), damage spells(Searing Light, Hammer of the gods, flame strike, sunbeam, power word stun).
NOTE: there are no instant kill spells/abilities.

Important: when choosing perks....choose those that fit your class: white mages can be the ones that do the talking and flirting while the have almost no physical strenght and a berserker can be ugly as hell but fast and furious. But you are free to make your own Dark Knight Jessica Alba or Brad Pit Berserker if that's what you wish( I actually reccomend it to give an extra touch to the story).

I know that some of you are gonna be mad because there are no goblins or lizard men or those races that make you laugh but the story just isn't right if they appeared. So if you cannot choose a race, then go for human.
Races have no favoured or restricted classes. So choose whatever you desire.

PS: This was Galador's ideea so don't think I did this because I got bored of Darkness Spreading. :P

Let's just say that the story would be ruined with those races. :)
They exist but they are not playable.
And white magic includes nature magic. I mean what's so special about druidic magic? It's still healing magic with some buff ups. If you're refering to those destructive spells the druid casts they are included in black magic. Druidic spells are, in essence, elemental based spells.....so.....read the description of the Black Mage.(the black mage uses elemental magic to defeat his/her enemies). The druid has been, practicaly, included in two clases. ^_^
