"I can't believe I let you talk me into this." Ametrine Jenkins mumbled as he stepped out of the ship rubble with his two compatriots, the genocidal monster named Kalkavek and his former police chief, Veronica Mazins.

"Well I can't believe we crashed on Dark Star."

"Again."

It had been 6 Days since the two revealed Kalkavek's true nature to him and explained that they were leaving the Jewel to lure out his clones or cousins or something, at least that's how Jenkins remembered it. Kalkavek asked him to accompany them as a technician and supporter, but he knew the real reason was because the other Bio-Androids would use him to get to Kalkavek.

The group had planned to travel to V'anitii where Kalkavek could train in monster hunting, as the Vanitian hillbillies outside of the cities often turned to mindless cannibalism and nobody would mind if the Golem Clan war broke out on "a planet of snobs", as Veronica put it. It was a solid plan, and the Cross-Galactic transit ship was sailing smoothly to its destination.

Everything changed when the fire nation meteors attacked. A large hunk of burning space rock cut through the center of the ship, killing everyone on board instantly. At least, everyone who didn't stowe away on the cargo bay. They were lucky enough to be in a sealed area, but the ship was launched spinning towards the last place anyone in the Universe wants to crashland: Dark Star.

"On the bright side," Jenkins added as the three continued their long march across the rocky wastes, "There'll be plenty of monsters to hunt." He looked to Kalkavek with a taunting expression.

Kalkavek cringed. Jenkins always was an Ametrine, and Ametrines were always shits.

"Everyone stop."

The two men stopped in their tracks.

"What is it girl? Is Timmy trapped in the well?"

"Kalkavek, what planet are we on?"

This question worried Kal. Veronica might be losing her mind, meaning he'd have to put her out of her misery soon. "Dark Star."

"If this star is so dark, why is there light pollution coming from over that ledge?"

Neither of the men had noticed, but there was in fact a mild brightness coming from their right. Kal grabbed onto Jenkins and Mazins and the three vanished from sight, teleporting to the source of the light.

The three materialized in the center of a prison cafeteria hall. Two groups of men, 30 strong each, were on opposite sides of the hall and firing bullets at each other from behind reinforced tables and broken down doors. One group looked to be made of police while the other group wore orange jumpsuits.

"Aauugh!" Jenkins screamed, taking a shot to the forarm.

The bullets suddenly stopped in mid air, with any more being caught in a telekinetic hemisphere around the trio.

"Play time's over, children. Some of you have been very naughty." Kalkavek pointed at the most decorated of the of the officers. "You there, what's happening here?"

The man trained his gun on Kalkavek's nose. "I don't have to listen to you! Get on the ground and put your hands behind your head!"

The man's gun lifted out of his hand, turned around, and shot him in the face. The body hit the floor with a smoke trail coming from its excavated forehead.

Kal pointed at the next best decorated officer, a Durian. "You there, what's happening here?"

"Well uh..." He looked at the fresh corpse to his left. "Since you asked so nicely, we're havin a bit of a dispute, y'see. One of our guards showed up dead, and we're reckon the inmates did it."

The dark skinned Bio-Android closed his eyes, paused for a moment, and exhaled.

"Okay, it was that one." He pointed at one of the other officers. "He did it because the victim slept with his wife a few years back."

The Durian eyed the officer in question and looked back to Kalkavek. "On what grounds do you say that?"

"The same way I know that you cross dress, Prisoner #28 actually is innocent, Prisoner #13 is in the closet, and Officer Krev is actually a body snatching monster that eats people."

He gave the men a few seconds of silence to let it sink in.

"He can read minds, you dults." The levitating bullets fell to the ground, all tension now diffused.

"I'm looking for a ship off this rock. Hand one over and I won't have to put on my angry face."

"Sorry stranger, but we ain't got no ship, else we'd be off this rock. But there is one who could help you; a dragon-man took control of the land 100 miles south, I reckon he could get you a ship if anyone could."

Kalkavek sighed and flew through the ceiling. Veronica and Jenkins ran to catch up while the rest of the prisoners and guards circled around Officer Krev and the murderer.

Jenkins and Mazins caught up to Kalkavek just as he landed, allowing the three to start their long march south.

"I fucking hate quests."

"Everyone does."
