I propose in order to get this thing up and moving we create a task force to tackle it. Five or so people who work together to get it going. It is too big of a project for one or two people. The idea would be for the team to not be an admin and his/her moderators but rather a group of people who assign tasks within themselves (Main plot person, Movelist Person, Race/Class Person, etc). Thoughts? |

Alright, bro. You gotta cool you're jets about this. Alyssa and I still very much want to make this thing happen but this is a hobby, not a job. There's no money coming from this and right this second, this very instant as we've mentioned before with us moving and all, we need every scrap we can get. We've been switching jobs lately, some of us on better terms than others and I don't want to give no sob stories about how broke we all are right now but, our priorities are clearly elsewhere. I appreciate you're interest but look around man. Everyone else has moved on with their life and are waiting patiently (or maybe not waiting at all. Life has a way pulling you're full attention). Of course, I'm not saying we don't require any help. That's not at all what I'm saying. When we get down to it, their are a number of things I'd like to turn to a few people's attention for and have a generous amount of input of advice on how to tackle certain subjects correctly. At the end of the day though, I just don't want (nor require) a bunch of people working on something I personally wanted to put special touches into myself. I've been here for awhile and this place has played a generous roll with the way I write and happened to have gotten me through some tough times. Continuing it, even it only for another SL or two, will be my way of paying it's proper respect to which I think it deserves. I want this to be a project between myself and my trusted associate, my right hand man for years now, Alyssa (Aka Dario) and of course some fine touches here and there by others who've walked the same road. Again, I appreciate your interest but we're going to do things our way. It's going to take a long time to get going so please, find something else to invest your time and interest with because I refuse to let the next installment (if you will) be released until I'm satisfied with it, and I am a very particular man when it comes down to it. |

Post letting you know I've seen this. Got some bad news so don't want to give a full reply just yet until I calm down. I'll say that, wanting to hold the SL to your chest as if it were a baby and trying to make it JUST yours is why every SL I have been in so far has failed. In order to keep things alive I think it needs a full team to work on it, otherwise it will die the moment one person gets too busy. |

See, I feel like you are dooming the SL. Don't get me wrong, you two have great ideas and would run it well but you two are busy. You are even saying how busy you are as why it's not up and running. It's fine to be busy and it is a hobby so it should go o nthe backburner, this isn't a post about rushing the SL starting up but rather about creating the best SL possible. I understand wanting it to be intimate, but what's going to happen when you both get busy in the middle of the SL? My answer; the exact same thing that has happened in the past. These things aren't meant to last forever but the end should be scheduled not abrupt because someone is busy. As you said, it's a hobby, so why try to be the Dictator of the site? I appreciate trying to do it your way but this is a DBZ SL and, you've said it yourself, you don't care for the DBZ aspects. Working as a team of four to five would do nothing but improve upon the site and would allow it to continue without one or two key people (even if not at optimal functionality). I think it's great you guys want to do it on your own but the game isn't yours. It's A or Jays if anyones and, if not theirs, it is the communities. Like you said, it is a hobby so why try to become the all-powerful dictator of it? I was told it took 200 hours to get the last one setup and running it would probably take many more hours than just writing, so there is no reason to go about it alone. You say you want personal touches to show your respect by continuing it but there is no reason to do it alone. You aren't special in the regard of this place influencing you. I am sure it has influenced all of us who have been around for 3+ SLs Edited by Ankou, Dec 8 2014, 11:05 AM.

My recommendation: get together your own group and start working on it on your own. It's pure capitalism. Whoever comes up with the better game draws the players. And as always, may the odds be forever in your favor. |
