-Age 898- Sharyu's stomach growls as he licks his lips, trying to moisten them with a long gone dry tongue. ...I need to find some water, fast... he thinks as he trudges through the desert. It's been a couple days since he found his new Ginyu Pod and the lack of nourishment was really starting to take its toll. Which is just what Malakan was hoping for. The Dark-jin had been following the Sharyu since he crash landed on the planet, days before. Finally, he is beginning to weaken. If I push him to his limits, his ki will feed me for weeks, he thinks as he stalks his prey. Quickly, he picks up speed, planning to scare Sharyu into a chase that will drain him further. Unfortunately for the beast, Sharyu is a well-trained soldier, and he immediately turns around when he senses the dark-jin's presence, sending a large ki blast towards the creature who narrowly dodges to the side, the blast creating a 6 foot wide crater in the sand. The Captain looks at his new opponent, scanning for any weakness and finding few. The dark purple skinned Dark-jin stands naturally on four legs, but his long, prehensile tail will easily allow him to stand on two. The beast cracks a smile and lets his long tongue loll out, his acid like spit burning the sand, sending acrid smoke into the air. Well, getting bit isn't an option, he thinks before igniting his fiery orange and red ki. He floats six feet into the air to hover there, waiting for the creature to respond. "Annoying prey," Malakan growls, "Get down here and fight me!" Sharyu laughs, "What's wrong beast? Can't fly? What a pity..." The Captain eases himself into a mid-air horse stance, focusing his ki into his hands. Quickly the energy surges up his arms, finally centering on his chest as he launches a fiery orange beam at the creature, but Malakan was expecting it. He opens his mouth wide, literally eating the beam of energy. The Dark-jins muscles literally expand before Sharyu's eyes. Apparantly, using ki isn't an option either... he thinks, wondering how he'll attack the creature. Malakan cackles evily, "What's wrong Shikirian? Did I eat your favorite ability?" The Dark-jin cackles further before breathing out a fine, dark purple mist at Sharyu. Without seeing the attack coming, the Captain is unable to dodge it as it fully engulfs him. His skin starts to burn as the acidic mist eats at him while his aura falters slightly, shrinking. Quickly, he lets his aura fade as he drops from the sky, landing in a crouched position in the sand. Malakan takes the opportunity and dashes forward, teeth flashing towards the Shikirians neck, but this was all according to his plan. His fingers dig into the sand, and he brings it up, throwing the fine dust into the beast's eyes. Malakan cries out in pain as he struggles to clear his eyes, but his claws make it nearly impossible. Sharyu flies towards the Dark-jin, crossing the distance almost instantly. Crashing into the beast, he shoves Malakan into the sand and continues to pound him to a pulp, his fists crashing down over and over. Seconds later, Sharyu stands above the crushed body of his fallen foe. Sighing, he continues his journey to the mountain city in the distance. [563 words] Edited by Richard, Nov 4 2013, 06:47 PM.

The next day, Sharyu stands at the base of the mountain city, which, to his great dismay, is not actually a city at all. Instead, Sharyu begins to realize, it is in fact a very large ship graveyard, with ships from both ancient and modern times strewn about. The good news is that I mite be able to find a way off of this planet here... he thinks before heading deeper into the graveyard. After hours of searching, he has found nothing but broken ship parts and ships so old and rusted he wouldn't even trust them enough to fly them within the atmosphere of Dark Star. As he searches through one pile of wreckage, a loud metal crash can be heard from behind him. He whirls around, a fiery ball of ki held in each hand, but his target quickly slides behind a mound of scrap metal. Sharyu quickly gives chase, ecstatic that he found some life on this planet, but wary that it will just be another beast. He chases after the figure, turning several times in the maze of crashed ships and scrap metal, quickly getting lost in the graveyard. After about a minute, he turns a final corner and is met with 3 Durians, all shoving the barrels of Phantom Double-Barrel Shotguns in his face. Sharyu's shoves his hands into the air, well aware of the damage these guns can wreak, having seem their use in war, and also having used them himself. "Why were you chasing my son?" the Durian in the middle asks just before cocking his shotgun. The Durian child that Sharyu had been chasing poked his head out from behind some wreckage, fear in his eyes. "I...I apologize, I did not know that people lived here. Truthfully, I thought your child was another beast trying to hunt me...the last one didn't have much luck," Sharyu said as he finally got a good look at the family. Each one was wearing plain, brown clothes that they had obviously been wearing for years. Each one was very dirty, stained by the sands of the desert and various fluids from the ships in the graveyard, with various tears that were sloppily patched up. "Are you the only people on this planet?" The Durian on the left laughs, "No, there are many more at Sector 10. A prison put here by our race to keep the worst of the worst..." "...I take it you once resided there." The Durian in the middle narrowed his eyes, "Yeah, I stopped one of the guards from beating a prisoner to death, so they threw me and my family in jail...First thing we did was break out, we stole these from the guards and headed into the desert. The ships that are brought here often have food stored in 'em." "...I see...I do not wish to impose, but...It's been days since I crash landed here and I haven't eaten...I have some Zenni on me, if you'll accept it," Sharyu slowly reaches into a pocket and pulls out a handful of Zenni. The lead Durian's eyes light up as he sees the pile, "Yes...we have some food that we can spare." He quickly shoulders his weapon and takes the Zenni from Sharyu. "Mirallda, go prepare some food for our guest!" His wife sulks off, clearly unhappy with his order. About an hour later, Sharyu has the fist meal he's eaten in days, and it was one of the best things he had ever tasted. Over the next 20 years, Sharyu spends his time with the Durian family (Mirallda, mother and wife, Damon, Father and husband, Marl, the eldest son, and Kar, the little boy that Sharyu chased through the Ship Graveyard) attempting to scavenge a way off of this desolate planet, but his luck is slim. Over the years, he finds nothing that can help him. Hundreds of navigation systems that work for no known reason, dozens of rotted out ships, gallons of several different types of fuel, dozens of broken weapons and a handful of working ones, but no way off of Dark Star and no information as to why any of these ships crashed here. The one thing that he did find of any use was a small metal bracelet that fit perfectly around his wrist, and upon some experimentation, Sharyu discovered that it can extend to a large laser cannon that covers his arm. / The only thing of worth he got from the Ship Graveyard was a Phantom Double-Barrel Shotgun that Damon gave to him.
