Darkness Falls; Survival quest

Void

VOID appeared in the middle a canyon. His thermal lens glasses malfunctioned, and he had to see the old fashioned way; in this darkness, however, it was impossible to see anything in front of you. He turned on the lights on his suit to assess the situation. Once the lights came on, it wasn't that much better, but he could see that he was inches away from what could either be a bottomless pit, or a one foot drop. VOID wasn't ready to find the answer to that question. He turned around and saw more ground at his feet in that direction, and decided to go that way. Once he was sure that he had some room in front of him, the android pointed his lights in all directions to shed light on the situation... pun intended, deal with it. He saw creatures that would scurry out of the light once it hit them. They would make high pitched screams when the light hit them. VOID could see the top of a cliff in front of him and lifted off towards it. Just before he reached it a rumble came from below, and something grabbed his foot and flung him back towards where he had appeared in the first place. He crashed and skidded over the ledge he saw before. He caught himself in midair before falling to his doom... Nevermind, it was just a three foot drop, but the android was flying. He flared out his aura and took off for the top of the cliff again. He heard the rumble again and flipped forward again as he timed it just right and landed on the edge of the cliff. He turned on his brights, and saw the other edge of the canyon several yards across the chasm. He looked down to see if he could locate and identify the creature that had grabbed his foot, but it had already hidden in the darkness beyond the reach of VOID's lights.

VOID wasn't sure where he was heading. His internal GPS was haywire. It was telling him that he was at Herculeland on Earth; unless they did a horrible renovation, this was not the "Happiest Place on Earth." He deactivated it and decided to go on manual. He reached a giant rock and crossed an 'X' on it so that he could find out if he was going in circles. He kept hearing the rumbling in all directions. Once he had walked for over twenty minutes, he found another rock, and saw a very tacky 'X' marked on it. It wasn't the one he had made; his was more clean than this. Something with intelligence was trying to mess with his mind in this harsh environment. He blasted the rock to pieces and looked around for a reaction. Just more rumbling and the sound of stones rolling down the surrounding slopes. VOID knew that this would be the ultimate place to hide, but how did this guy manage to survive down here?

Void

After about an hour of wandering about, VOID had adjusted his eyesight fairly well. He dimmed the lights a bit more and was able to see through the dust particles that were fogging up the brights. There were several stone formations to his left that seemed like ruins of an ancient civilization before the planet had become what it is today. The android examined it closely and a dark figure appeared from behind one of the pillars. VOID quickly took a defensive stance and faced the figure squarely.

"No need to be worried, traveler. I mean you no harm; I'm simply taking refuge in the sacred ground of the ancients. The creatures they don't like to set foot in here for some reason that is beyond me." a robed Konatsian stepped out from behind a pillar and invited the android to join him. VOID wasn't too keen on talking to somebody, but he could use a rest; and maybe this guy could help him find his target.

Once the android sat down on a fallen pillar, the Konatsian pulled out a jug and poured it's contents into a glass and offered it to the android; he refused.

"What brings you to this terrible place?" the robed being said before taking a sip.

"...Business." VOID said dismissively.

"Oh well if that is the case, it can't be any good. If there's one thing I've learned in my thirty years stuck on this planet, it's that nothing good happens here. To have business here, you must be a nefarious character indeed;" the Konatsian said staring into his glass.

VOID didn't react. He didn't speak. He just looked around the ruins several stone columns surrounded a courtyard with several pews carved out of stone lined up as if it were a temple or a church. He looked up and was really surprised to see the sky so clearly. With everything being dark, it really makes one appreciate how amazing the stars are in the sky. He looked back down to see the Konatsian staring at him with a big smile on his face. The android stood up and made his way for the entrance that he came in from.

"Peace be with you traveler, if you wish to see things clearly, turn off the lights and see with your inner eye."

VOID shook off the last part, but he was then realizing that there was a special sonar application in his programing that would make it easier to see things through vibration. He turned off his lights and saw the planet for what it was; a planet. He took two steps and saw that the source of the rumbling was a rather large creature following him and protecting its nest. VOID walked in the opposite direction and was relieved to see that it backed off as well. Now that he can finally see on this planet, it's is now time for him to take care of what he set out for. He needed to find his next mark and bring him to justice.
