The power from the Demon Well coursed through Shaitan. Pilaf dipped his toe into the waters, insisted it was far too hot, and was impatiently waiting for his servant to complete his bath. The power was intoxicating, completely different from the power the Djinn typically pulled from magic, Shaitan instead felt the power of the souls floating through the air above, siphoned into him. The air around him wavered, the building heat distorting his visage. Flame billowed from his eyes. The City of Brass would burn, and by a power unfamiliar to it. Shaitan cut his connection to the well. He could still feel the tether there, tying him to this place. Perhaps when he was unbound from the Fire Plane, he could be bound anew. The details did not matter though. He did not plan on dying again. “You took far too long” Chided Pilaf. The Imp had taken to the magic carpet, and insisted on flying it alone. Like a child with a new toy, Pilaf pulled loop de loops, serpentined side to side, and even dive bombed Shaitan from time to time. Much like the parent of a young child with a new toy, Shaitan was content that this mad imp was occupying itself with something other than his company. “I believe I did my lord, but the power I gained will assist us on our voyage upwards” Shaitan shouted, but it was too late. The wind in the Imp’s ears had long blocked Shaitan’s speech out, and if they Imp really did care, he did not show it. The ascent was a difficult one. Pilaf descended eventually. His furrowed brow and wincing eyes directed towards Shaitan. “Why do you care so much about the Dragonballs Djinn?” Suspicion and paranoia crept into Pilafs voice, as he flew eye level the the genie. “It’s not like either of us are getting to them without being wished back with them” Pilaf stuck a finger in Shaitan’s ear “You don’t have a hidden communication device do you? You’re not getting someone to take my dragonballs before I get wished out?!” Shaitan removed pilaf’s stiff arm gently, keeping the tiny wrist between his index finger and thumb. “My Master.” Shaitan kept his voice to a near whisper. “I did not wish to get your hopes up, but in Otherworld, there are many doorways to the other realms. You need only find them. Why, we may not even need a wish wasted on us!” Pilaf’s arm relaxed. “Oh. Brilliant! This is why I keep servants like you around Djinn!” Pilaf in his renewed furor pulled several more maneuvers on the carpet in celebration. What Shaitan had not told him is these tears are incredibly uncommon and difficult to find. “Master. When we return to the mortal realm, where will we find these dragonballs? I am but a Djinn, my purpose is to best serve you.” Pilaf spiraled down to float alongside the Djinn, Pilaf dangled his legs off the side of the carpet, kicking absentmindedly. “Well Shaitan, I suppose we’d have to find that Bulma girl’s radar. The damnable things scatter to the 7 corners or Earth or Namek or Wherever they have dragonball’s nowadays! But if you get that radar contraption, you can hunt them down posthaste!” Is there a radar for the radar, thought Shaitan. It would be easier to find another Djinn’s lamp. As Shaitan walked and Pilaf floated, the two encountered a great forest of spiked trees. Topping these trees every so often were hell’s citizenry, all of which were still alive. Squirming in pain, they begged to be let down. Shaitan did not have time for this, there were thousands of similar victims in the massive forest, and Pilaf did not even seem to notice. Zipping along in the treetops, Pilaf admired the spiked top trees as only a provincial lord could. “Shaitan we must collect seeds for when we return home! My Castle’s courtyard would like positively menacing with these” The cool forest air was pierced by an ear curdling scream. Pilaf tumbled through the air, Magic carpet gone, careening towards Shaitan. Shaitan caught the Imp by his ridiculously oversized collar. “Master” Shaitan struggled to maintain composure. He hadn’t enough power to enchant another carpet, and this baboon had lost his only means of flight. “Where did… Your carpet go?” Pilaf, wide eye’d and surprised he was not a bloody spot on the ground, turned towards Shaitan. “A thing servant, a 4 eyed green thing, shorter then me, I swear, just blipped in out of nowhere and disappeared!” A being almost matching Pilafs description was leaning against a tree 10 meters away. Tucked under its arm was a carpet. “I am not in any way shorter than that thing.” The creature growled, its 2 side eyes bulging from its head. Shaitan put down Pilaf and faced the odd creature. “You have something of mine. Drop it and we’ll be fine. Keep it and I’ll tear that ugly head from your body.” The creature shuddered for a moment but then broke out in a big grin. “You have no power over me beast. Half these screaming sinners are impaled because they entered my forest. The other half were unfortunate enough to fall from snake way.” “Kill him.” Muttered Pilaf, still dazed and winded from collar related whiplash. Shaitan charged the green creature, but he disappeared, not in a blur, but with no sign of movement. There he was, there he isn’t. “He’s quick” Muttered Shaitan “Quick does not begin to cover it” The voice came from the upper trees. The Creature had somehow ascended the trees in a mere second. “Allow me to introduce myself. I am Guldo. Fastest being in existence. Fastest, because I control time and space itself!” Guldo took a breath and disappeared, only to reappear behind Shaitan. The Djinn could feel a sharpened top of a young Skewer Tree against his back. “I suggest you leave and allow me to take my prize” Guldo took another breath and appeared 5 meters away from Shaitan, this time towards his front “I have this quite in hand”Guldo sputtered, quite out of breath. “So if you would leave now?” “So you have to breath deep to pull that trick?” Shaitan powered into his Mighty Djinn form, summoning a vortex of winds. “We’re going to have a breath holding competition Guldo.” The Typhoon sucked the air from the surrounding forest. Guldo disappeared. Pilaf was the first to pass out. Shaitan was counting on the Imp pulling through, but if he didn’t it was no great loss. The Carpet was of far more value. Several impaled victims were flung from their pointy ended prisons, falling to the ground gasping for air. Shaitan began to feel lightheaded. Guldo dropped into view in the distance, hitting the ground like the bag of moldy potatoes he resembled. Shaitan dismissed the twister and put his boot on the Bas-Jin’s Throat. “Teach me how to do that and I’ll let you live. Don’t and you’ll be joining your friends on the spiked trees. I promise you, freezing time will not assist you if you’re already stuck in one place.” Guldo nodded, squeeking out a weak word of compliance. Shaitan scooped up his Carpet and kicked his “Master” Awake. |

[60exp//200 Zenni] Guldo's Battle Pausing Description: The Time Freeze ability created by Guldo has one major drawback -- newcomers to the technique must hold their breath and therefore limits their ability to attack. The battle pausing technique is essentially the same concept, requiring far less concentration though the time is also limited. Battle Pausing uses the mind to freeze to create a psychic field that holds the opponent in place. Effect: RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. If your opponent's attack roll was 25 or higher, STUN. Costs X-1 KI Points. |
