Quest: There’s a Bad Moon on the Rise / 4 Days / 1 Battle / 800 wpd Participants: Aiden (-200 wpd Battle Mod, -200 wpd Magic Crystal Ball) “You know what its like dealing with a herd of exploding Saibamen?” Aiden had a feeling he might just find out. Of course, irony was not without a sense of humor. As if on cue from the Bas-jin’s words, the world seemed to explode. The force of the blast ripped through the tented area throwing things into chaos. Aiden was quickly knock off of his feet and tossed through the air. He crashed through the side of the tent and landed roughly thirty feet from where he once stood. Both hands pressed into the cold ground to steady himself as he sought to get to his feet. Aiden’s vision was blurred. He must have hit his head when he was blown over. The sounds around him seemed far away and muffled as if through some sort of filter. Furthermore there was a throbbing pain in his head. When he raised his hand to the location he felt a warm, wet sensation. Pulling his hand away he saw the crimson of blood. Must have struck his head on a rock or something. Squeezing his eyes tight, Aiden focused on his healing abilities. In short order the bleeding stopped and the pain dulled. He was still left a little off balance and struggling through a headache. Still, his vision returned as well as his hearing. It came rushing back to him in an instant. Taking him completely by surprise, Aiden would be bombarded by the sounds of explosions and screams echoing the landscape. The tented community of merchants before him had been set ablaze. “W-What… What’s going on?” The rest of Rein did not seem to be faring much better. Aiden watched with horror as a large, pink spaceship descended from the sky. Its trajectory was erratic and it spun back and forth as if it was completely out of control. Before anyone could stop it, the ship struck a large building at sickening speed. The echo of the resulting explosion could be heard by Aiden even from his considerable distance away. The sound of twisted metal and crumbling stone followed as the building’s structures gave and it toppled in on itself, taking out two smaller building nearby in the process. Alarms suddenly blared to life all around the cityscape. In the skies above Rein ships began to descend en masse. Most of them seemed to be having trouble staying in the air which only made the matters worse as each one came down upon the city like suicide bombers, crashing and tearing through buildings, businesses, and homes alike. It was raining spaceships on the city of Rein. Worse yet, the design of the ships that fell all around left the inhabitants mostly unarmed. Emerging from the wreckage they had caused came soldiers armed with all manner of weaponry. The air was filled with smoke and ash as blasters lit up like a vibrant light show all across the city streets while the sound of steel clashing with steel followed suit. Men, women, and children all were caught in the crossfire and carnage that ensued. It was hard to tell whether these sudden attackers were invading or exterminating with their methods. It wasn’t long before one such soldier came upon Aiden. He looked to be a pale human but he moved incredibly fast. Aiden barely had time to duck the man’s thusly drawn sword without losing his head. He came up with a strong uppercut catching his would be attacker square in the jaw. To his surprise, the man he hit barely moved from a blow that would have sent a normal person skyward. At this close proximity, Aiden was able to get a good look at his opponent. A sinking feeling cut into him like someone had just opened a hole in his stomach. There, on the man’s forehead, was a symbol Aiden knew all too well. It was the symbol he saw every time he had faced down the monstrous Rosencrantz. It was the symbol of control used by the wizard Bwy that amplified its owner’s powers and brought out all their evil tendencies. There was no mistaking it. Aiden was facing… “Majins!” Caught off guard, the Majin-powered foe used the opening to grasp Aiden by the collar of his jacket. Tossing his sword aside his other hand seized the human as well while lifting him into the air. He held Aiden aloft and prevented any chance for escape. Just then a tail grew and shot out from the man’s backside. Its pointed barb darted at Aiden’s frame in an attempt to absorb him. So not just Majins but apparently he was dealing with Bio-Androids as well! Gritting his teeth for the inevitable pain that was sure to ensue the hero would be pleasantly surprised to see said tail blown away by a ki burst from Aiden’s flank. The Bio-Android howled in pain and in his momentary lapse it gave Aiden the opportunity to break free. Using a hefty headbutt (something he’d been practicing on thanks to his pal, Glacier) the human would strike his foe before knocking free of his grasp. Rolling when he hit the ground he came up with both arms raised. Energy formed in those outstretched palms he slammed them both together before launching the combined orbs into his opponent. The Bio-Android was thusly sent flying through the air and crashing into an already overturned building. Turning his attention to his savior, Aiden was pleasantly surprised to find a group of Saiyans fully armed and seemingly able to fight. “Thanks for that.” In a moment he was surrounded by six of the biggest Saiyans he had ever seen. There did not seem to be anyone in particular in charge of their group so Aiden simply addressed the tallest. “What’s going on? More importantly, what can I do to help?” “It looks like some fools thought it was a good idea to attack our city. We saved you because you look like you might be a good fighter. You got any battle experience?” If they only knew. “Yeah, I can hold my own.” As the group conversed more explosions ripped the landscape. The attackers were growing in numbers. Ships kept coming down. Things were looking grim. Something was not right, however. No sane man would come to planet Vegeta without some sort of backup. The place was populated by a race of warriors who at a moment’s notice could transform into true monsters. They had to have a fail safe in mind. “So tell me, why hasn’t half the city transformed into those giant ape forms of yours and kicked these attackers out of here?” Aiden glanced around the group. They looked uneasily at each other and remained silent for a moment. The tallest member spoke up once again. “We’ve tried. Apparently there’s something blocking our ability to transform. We haven’t been able to figure out who or what was getting in the w--” As if on cue a massive ship broke through the cloud cover and settled over Rein. Its size was roughly two city blocks in length. On all sides of the pink ship were strange antenna. That had to be it. The invading party had somehow found a way to broadcast a signal to stop the Saiyan’s transformation into their Oozaru form. Strange that they would fly such an obvious thing into the heart of the city. “Well, looks like we have to take out that big ship if we’re going to repel these invaders. If you’re willing to follow me, we can show these guys why it was a bad idea to try to come to New Vegeta looking for trouble!” All of them let out a cheer. With the newfound allies at his back, Aiden was filled with a renewed sense of strength and hope that they would be able to save Vegeta from the Majin menace. Taking to the skies the human lead the Saiyan guards in an aerial battle over the landscape of Rein trying bit by bit to get closer to that mother ship. -- After roughly a half-hour of circling through the air and fending off more invading ships to get closer Aiden realized that the only way they could possibly hope to take it down was a coordinated attack from all sides. Each of them split off and surrounded the ship in their attempt. However, before their counter attack could be commenced the hull on the base of the ship opened up to release a suddenly flurry of new soldiers. At the head of the group was a single Bio-Android. His eyes were a fearsome red hue and his lips were curled into an ugly sneer. The soldiers at his back all looked like him - Bio-Android Juniors it would appear - and they spread out across the city attacking all manner of defenses. Several of the men that Aiden had lead into the battle were being pressed by the newfound opposition. If Aiden had any hope of stopping the invading force he would first need to take out the big guy in charge in order to get a shot at that massive ship... Edited by Aiden, Nov 19 2013, 08:13 PM.
