Making this thread because I know a handful of people will be or have recently maxed out their transformations. When you do so you are granted another custom (of which can also be an advanced attack this time). Making it easier on the mods, you can post your proposed customs here and get some feedback on them as well as approval. |

I'm in the market for a custom block, myself. Here's what I was looking at: RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. Choose one of your non-signature RESTRICTED techniques (other than this Block). That technique gains RESTRICTED+1 for the remainder of combat. Costs X-1 Ki Points. Note: Effect is a slightly watered down Spiked Ball. Lets me get a second use out of Mind Reading or Survival Instinct. RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. The next SUCCESSFUL non-Signature attack that would reduce you to 0 HP this combat does 0 damage. Costs X-1 Ki Points. Note: Stays in theme with my set (the unkillable factor with Eternal and Where There's Life). Still permits a signature to kill. RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. If this stopped an attack roll result of 20 or higher, gain (10% Total HP) and 2 Ki Points. Costs X Ki Points. Note: Pretty standard Haokiru-like block. RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. Stop your opponent's next attack. Costs X Ki Points. Note: Again, another pretty standard block. Feel free to chime in with thoughts on any of these. All of these moves are strong but not terribly broken. Some of them are annoying given your setup, but your setup is already annoying to begin with. The most powerful to me is the RESTRICTED+1 deal, but even that costs Ki or could be done if you just learn Spiked Ball. |

I've also looked into my new custom being a block since I have none to speak of (and having 80/100 sides that will cap out next week). I'm thinking the third block that grants 10% health healing is possibly the least of the obnoxious blocks (two blocks for one is pretty crazy). I'm thinking of a sort of seal block for mine personally and I've put alot of thought into it, using the theme of desperation and sacrifice for that good old power grab. Heart of Stone (BLOCK) RESTRICTED x1 Block. Stop an energy or punch attack. Remove and advanced attack and a skill from your move list for the rest of the match. Remove the stopped advanced attack from the list of the owner until the end of the match. Costs X+2 Ki Points Edited by Ametrine Prime, Dec 1 2013, 06:20 PM.

Rewording it so that its written proper: RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop an Punch-Type or Energy Attack. You may remove an Advanced Attack and a Skill in your moveset for the remainder of the match. If you do, remove the Advanced Attack you blocked with this Technique from your opponent's moveset for the remainder of the match. Costs X+2 Ki Points. |

Guys I don't think blocks were supposed to be sure fire ways to get awesome effects out. |

Aiden I like the flat health and ki gain block. Any way I can convince you to make it target one move type, physical or energy? Otherwise knocking it down to a X-2 with no ki gain might be better. |

1. Out of all the blocks you suggested this one is close to reasonable. RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. If this stopped an attack roll result of 20 or higher, gain (10% Total HP) and 2 Ki Points. Costs X Ki Points. Note: Pretty standard Haokiru-like block. You are trying to get 2 effects out of 1 block here, that's not standard. Were I to suggest anything it would be to leave it as is except the health gain would be nerfed to (5%THP) or attach to your next attack as a successful effect. 2. The one that removes moves would be balanced only if your opponent got to choose which move you get rid of. 3. on this one RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. Stop your opponent's next attack. Costs X Ki Points. Maybe have this one cost 2(X). IT would be really good vs. 1ki attacks, but you wouldn't want to spend 8ki blocking a 4ki move. 4.This one could be modified to only effect restricted [SKILLS] seeing as you get the effect automatically unlike spiked ball where you have to beat your opponent in a roll to get the effect. RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. Choose one of your non-signature RESTRICTED techniques (other than this Block). That technique gains RESTRICTED+1 for the remainder of combat. Costs X-1 Ki Points. 5. finally RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. The next SUCCESSFUL non-Signature attack that would reduce you to 0 HP this combat does 0 damage. Costs X-1 Ki Points. This one isn't too bad really. I would put a 3 round time limit on the effect though so that you cannot just set it up early. Now these all look like standard blocks. |

I'm alright with this change. As is, I was probably going to use it just to get another use out of Mind Reading or Survival Instinct anyway (both of which are skills). I had no intention of trying to get an AA or second Block to add +1 to. So with that change it would read as: RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. Choose one of your RESTRICTED Skills. That Skill gains RESTRICTED+1 for the remainder of combat. Costs X-1 Ki Points. If any other mods/admins have no problem with this, I'll take it. |

Me and Brian were having a talk about it, and when you look at blocks, most of them are super careful about how they let you gain extra effects. They require specific attacks to gain effects, and/or they attach effects to your next successful attack. There are, of course, exceptions. There are some that give you blatant un-situational turn advantage. The blocks that can play with a character's moveset have rather tame effects. All of this, if I had to guess, is because blocks can't really be stopped. You spend the ki, you stop the attack, you get the effect. That said, I feel most blocks are undertuned. We're comfortable with RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. If this stopped an attack roll result of 20 or higher, gain (10% Total HP) and 1 Ki Points. Costs X Ki Points. It can stop both types of attacks. It's stipulation is really the only time you'd be using a block anyway, or you'd be sure to get it out early. Compared to the similiar hao blocks, Miraculous Recovery and Display of Endurance, It's a version that mitigates risk but has a roughly equal effect. Let us know! I'll be around tonight. Salamander Swordplay Going on the all out offensive the blade master gives up all doubt, focusing his mind for precision. Effect: CONSTANT - Your attacks requiring a sword gain +1 to the results for every active skill with "Swordplay"in the title. Your opponent's attacks do -10% damage while this skill is active. Costs 3 ki points. or Undine Swordplay Using leverage and positioning of the sword, the blade master can push any attack away from himself, or in some cases push himself away from the attack. Effect: CONSTANT - When you activate this skill reduce your dexterity bonus by X. Your opponent's attacks do -X0% damage while this attack is active. If this is deactivated, your dexterity bonus is restored. Costs: 3 ki Edited by Togashi, Dec 25 2013, 02:36 PM.

I'd totally roll a d25 for the rest of a fight to have an opponent's attacks do half damage. That second skill is a bit too powerful without a cap restriction. |
