猛火道 Hiten Mitsuguri-ryu,
flying heaven govern sword-style
Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū (飛天御剣流, lit. 'flying heaven govern sword-style') is a style of kenjutsu that was created in order to defeat multiple opponents using gods-like speed and agility. It's also an art that has to have the human body mastered, learning how the muscles and the body work and are joined together. The practitioner of this also needs to have trained their eyes to anticipate an opponents next move. Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū is a style only to be used by the practitioner if they feel as though someone is deemed worthy of death itself. It is an ancient and advanced style, that only can be taught to the good-hearted with good intentions. This is an ultimate sword-fighting style, and is normally seen as "forbidden" amongst other Samurai who know and have seen the style. By the Shinobi world, someone who knows this style is known to be using kinjutsu. This art doesn't really use a large amount of chakra, depending on the raw abilities of the practitioner is how strong it virtually is. The master of this style is normally deemed a God of the Sword, because this is an art that is rarely ever mastered.
Stage Progression:
  • Stage One: Two days to master.
  • Stage Two: Additional three days to master.
  • Stage Three: Additional four days to master.
  • Stage Four: Additional five days to master.
  • Stage Five: Additional six days to master.

[最初のステップは:最高のステップ] "first step: best step"
[Stage One] The first stage of this is mastering knowledge of the human body and the mastery of a technique known as Shinsoku, or Godspeed. Shinsoku is a technique similar to the Body Flicker Technique. With Shinsoku mastered, the user has the ability to create afterimages behind their body, to confuse their opponents. This is also the stage where a practitioner is decided if they have a pure enough heart to utilize and master the style and they're given their first special blade known as a Sakabato, a reverse-edge sword, that doesn't allow the user to kill their opponent unless held in the reverse-fashion of the blade. Anyone who masters this first level can already be deemed as deadly and on another level, when it comes to using Kenjutsu. The master of this stage(s) moves become extremely fluid and their overall speed is a lot faster than the normal Shinobi or samurai.
[C-RANKED]: God's Speed (ゴッドスピード, Shinsoku) is a technique that is learned after mastering the first stage and is comparable to the Body Flicker Technique. It allows the user to be able to create a temporary afterimage behind their body, that is tangible for only 4 seconds after being formed, it's extremely good as a decoy-related move. The user of Shinsoku also has the ability to basically flash step past his opponent, the speed of unsheathing and sheathing will be increased if the user utilizes Iaido, as an art. With the techniques in combination, the user has the ability to almost become undodgeable.

[うなって燃えさし表面を焦げます] "Growling ember scorches the surface"
[Stage Two] The second stage of Mōhindō is where the practitioner will begin to appreciate the benefits of the style because they will be able to use it more effectively. There are still however several drawbacks that will effect the user during use but are somewhat overshadowed by what the practitioner is granted. At this stage the practitioner is taught balance within their passions and energy in their motions. With access to a higher level of chakra and chakra control the practitioner is able to innately focus more of their fire release element within their sword, which subsequently means that the sword will heat up to a higher degree. The sword will become white at the habaki or hilt and red at the kissaki or tip showing that the sword is being heated to a higher temperature than that of the first stage, so much so that even small flames will begin to form at the habaki. Under normal circumstances this would be listed as a drawback and in some degree it still is. The blade continues to suffer from being weakened due to the now higher temperatures that the practitioner is capable of reaching, though only to the same extent as the previous stage. Meaning if the practitioner clashes swords with his opponent it is likely that his will break, so it must be avoided if at all possible. The practitioner's sword is only weakened to the same extent because he has learned to harness his chakra in the most efficient way possible with his blade, otherwise the sword would naturally be far weaker than previously mentioned. This allows the practitioner to maintain a higher degree of temperature across his sword whilst only suffering the drawbacks of the initial stage.
  • [猛火 ・噴石] Roaring Flame: Cindering Strike
[C-Rank] The first technique that the practitioner is taught during their training in Mōhindō. Whilst channelling their fire release element through their sword the practitioner is capable of igniting whatever their sword comes into contact with, for instance if they cut into a tree the area cut will immediately ignite into fire. What makes this technique so effective is that it can be performed on any held object and is not restricted to swords, i.e. a kunai, shuriken, senbon, etc.
[噴石葉は不屈の炎を点火] "Cindering leaf ignites into an unyielding flame"
[Stage Three] The third stage of Mōhindō teaches the practitioner true balance in terms of their fire release element and their sword. In balancing the two perfectly the practitioner is capable of removing all drawbacks that they have previously weathered through. No longer will the practitioner have to suffer the pain of bleeding hands as his fire release element and his sword are now considered one in the same. The practitioner at this stage is taught how to be forceful, turning their goals, desires, passions, etc. and energy into the force required in order to achieve or overcome them. By forcing their flames onto others they learn to remove obstacles that may be preventing them from moving forward. It is the force of their flame that will ultimately decide whether or not they yield. As their fire release chakra flows into their sword it will ignite it almost immediately with the only difference being that the sword itself is protected from the harsh temperatures brought about by the fire, resulting in the previous drawbacks no longer applying. The sword itself will be as strong as any other sword, stronger even as the fire that coats the sword is capable of igniting anything it comes into contact with until said object has been engulfed entirely. The only drawback at this stage is the chakra cost for the flames appearing are formed mostly through chakra meaning it will eventually drain the practitioner if he is caught in a prolonged fight.
  • [猛火 ・利かぬ気勢] Roaring Flame: Unyielding Force
[C-Rank] This technique is considered to vary in strength depending on the desires of the practitioner, as a result it is often used as a test to see how passionate they are to their goals in life. By channelling their fire release chakra through their sword they are able to unleash a wave of pure fire the size of the Grand Fireball technique at will from the sword in order to attack from a distance. The fire will flow through the air, igniting all that it passes until it reaches its destination or the chakra used is no longer able to sustain itself. The fire unleashed does not have the capability of cutting through anything simply because it was released through a sword, it will only set whatever it passes on fire. Once the wave of fire comes into contact with anything it will erupt outwards and around its target in order to completely engulf it in fire.

  • [猛火 ・ぢりぢり種火] Roaring Flame: Sizzling Ember
[B-Rank] A secondary technique that, although not kenjutsu related is restricted to Mōhindō practitioners. This technique can only be used when the practitioner's fire release element has come into contact with something, so provided that they have cut their opponent with their sword they are able to use this technique. Once they have come into contact with the practitioner's fire release element it will leave a "stain" of chakra on their target which they are then able to use in order to constantly ignite a flame across the touched area. "Sizzling Ember" is a reference to the first stage in that the fire is able to endure being put out and continue burning.
[不屈の火は自己炎症を起こさ] "Unyielding flame consumes the self"
[Stage Four] The fourth stage of Mōhindō is often considered the true reflection of the power that a Mōhindō practitioner is capable of reaching, for now they will have to break the limits of their fire release element in order to even successfully begin learning this stage. Their fire release element will not only become one with their sword, they are now able to manifest a sword made purely of fire. They are capable of such because they have innately been passing their chakra from themselves into their sword for such a long time that it has almost become natural to them, allowing them to maintain a sword constructed entirely of fire release chakra. The only limitation that effects them at this point is whether or not they are able to sustain what they are capable of unleashing. Just like a kekkei genkai combining the practitioner's fire release element with their sword will no longer drain them of so much chakra since they have become so used to manipulating it so efficiently that it is essentially a part of them. The flames that surround their sword are so strong now that they are able to slice through what would be considered Kage-level steel release, meaning they are no longer so restricted by the physical world. Due to this however if a practitioner loses the focus that they have been taught over the period of practicing Mōhindō, the fire that surrounds their blade will begin to effect the area around them to the point where fire will begin to combust spontaneously which could potentially harm the user. Each strike made by the practitioner at this point will result in the unleashing of a wave of fire towards what the practitioner was attempting to attack.
  • [猛火 ・自粛] Raging Flame: Self Restraint
[B-Rank] This technique more-or-less limits the capabilities of the Mōhindō practitioner to something that they can control, for those who reach this stage can spawn a fire that would otherwise annihilate the area that they are in and harm themselves. So long as the practitioner is able to focus on his fire release element they are able to maintain the fire along the sword itself, if however they do lose their focus then fire will begin to spawn randomly around them. This however is only the first stage of losing focus on their new found strength, if they remain unable to focus on restraining themselves waves of fire will continuously erupt around the area until they die of chakra loss.

  • [猛火 ・剣更新] Raging Flame: Renewing Sword
[A-Rank] This technique is what allows the practitioner to manifest swords entirey of fire release chakra. The power of the swords created can burn through almost anything, confusing those that would otherwise believe that they are capable of going toe-to-toe with them. The amount of swords created depends entirely on the practitioner however it has been noted that the chakra cost for summoning the swords is significantly low, allowing the practitioner to summon them in the thousands if they wish. The swords have no real structure so anything that can withstand the temperature of the swords created will simply pass through them, however there are very few legendary items that can accomplish this.
[自己地獄の炎に噴火] "The self erupts into an infernal blaze"
[Stage Five] The final stage of Mōhindō where the practitioner is taught how to transcend the limitations of their physical body, to transcend both their sword techniques and their fire release nature, allowing themselves to become the sword that they wield and the fire that they are capable of creating. They transcend that of a mere practitioner and become a master of Mōhindō. At this stage the master will maintain full control over their fire release element, no longer will a loss of focus cause spontaneous fires to erupt around them. The master at this stage is able to control their fire release element to the degree that they are able to decide who the fire will burn and who it will not. They are able to surround even themselves in an infernal fire capable of burning through all but the most legendary of items. Having their body become the sword that they wield they are no longer bound to the limits of kenjutsu, for to them the sword exists wherever their fire release element is. The fire that they create goes beyond average temperatures, reaching degrees that only the core of the very Sun itself is capable of manifesting. At the unsheathing of their sword the master is able to create an infernal blaze the size of which extends beyond the radius of a village, coating the entire area in a maelstrom of fire that even the strongest of shinobi will faint from the sheer heat alone.
  • [熱地獄火 ・解放制裁] Infernal Flame: Release Restraint
[S-Rank] At the very unsheathing of the master's sword the area will immediately be engulfed in a fire that extends the radius beyond that of an entire village. The fire will erupt suddenly from the ground surrounding the master until eventually it begins swirl around the radius and into the air itself. Eventually the entire area will be consumed, no longer will the sky be seen, only the fire that coats the area around them. All within the maelstrom of fire will find that after a mere minute they will succumb to the heat that they are being forced to feel, they will not sweat for the moisture within the air will begin to deplete, resulting in the very air itself to become dry. Objects will combust around the master both randomly and at will as the area itself becomes their domain.

  • [熱地獄火 ・炎炎渦] Infernal Flame: Blazing Maelstrom
[S-Rank] Similar to the Roaring Flame: Sizzling Ember technique however used at a masterful level. By coming into contact with their opponent they are able to set them ablaze just as before and are capable of reigniting the flame each time the flame would wither out, similar to the aforementioned technique. The difference however is that the master will turn their target's chakra against them, they will use their chakra as a means to fuel the fire that is burning them, the only way to douse the flame and keep it doused is by not utilising chakra. Each time the target uses their chakra they will find that the area that made contact with the master's fire will reignite and set ablaze over the target and will continue to burn them until once again doused, however, dousing the flame at this point is almost impossible because any source of water that comes in contact with the fire will simply evaporate. To defeat this technique the victim must first discover the stain of chakra left behind and remove it by overcoming it with their own chakra.
