[₪] Suiton: Kōuton (雨, Water Release: Art of Rain) is a branch of utilizing the Water Release element. At one point in time, farmers utilized this in order to farm their crops. After an era of war, it became known for it's advanced usage in assassinations and other special purposes. People who could utilize the Rain Art were deemed as heroes, for their help during the drought of the villages. Over time, it became known for it's wide-ranged area attacks and ability to destroy entire populations. Those who utilizes Kōuton are deemed as deities to the skies and sometimes revered as Gods of Suiton.
Utilizing Kōuton takes a large amount of chakra and only are utilized for B-ranked techniques and up. When utilizing it, the user generates a large amount of his/or her chakra into the sky and connecting with the water in the air, creating an abundance of clouds, which is where the usage of Kōuton comes into play and the ability to release the chakra into the sky, and make it come down - simultaneous. The user must have chakra control as an archetype, in order to be able to generate their chakra into multiple places and use focus.
Kōuton is also noted for it's ability to battle against the Sharingan. Similar to the Hidden Mist Technique, Kōuton usage releases chakra over the area through rain drops. And is able to conceal the user within rain, making it impossible for the user to make out the chakra in front of him/or her. This is why chakra control is a requirement, in order for them to be able to generate a perfected amount of chakra into the rain drops to be able to conceal their body from the rain and utilize some of the rain techniques that require perfected chakra control and mastery of the water release.
Spoiler: click to toggle [B Rank]: Kōuton no Jutsu (胴合流, Art of Rain Technique) This technique is utilized through the mastery of Suiton and the usage of chakra control. This allows the user to project their chakra into the clouds above their body and an amassed area over 500 ft from the users body, allowing a large range to utilize for the user. When placing their chakra into the sky and the clouds, they become interlocked together and creates a black colored sky - the abundance of clouds becoming bound together. Chakra can be released from the clouds in the appearance of water, hence the name Kōuton, the Art of Rain because it creates rain/water droplets and drops them down onto the opponent in which the user, depending on their rank, can change the mass of their rain.
[B Rank]: Kyū Doshaburi (突然の豪雨の技術, Sudden Downpour Technique) This is a technique that utilizes a nice-sized portion of the users chakra. It creates light droplets that eventually drop down in a downpour; leaving the user unable to be seen with the Sharingan, Byakugan, or the naked eye. This technique is extremely difficult because of it's need to push out chakra from their body and out from the clouds, simultaneously. The chakra within even the single drops need to be aligned with the same amount of chakra in each individual drop.
[A Rank]: Kōu Tama (弾丸の技術を雨が降ること, Raining Bullet Technique) This technique forces the user to push out their chakra at an extremely fast-rate, which allows the rain to come down twice as hard onto the body. This technique can be controlled to an extent, strong enough to tear the body from above or weak enough push the body onto the ground by controlling the mass and utilizing it as a paralyzation or a binding technique.
[A Rank]: Doku Ame (毒の雨, Poison Rain Technique) It allows the user to influence their chakra and change it into another form allowing them to rain down a poison - a green colored rain, that can drop onto the opponent and ultimately (as the technique says), poison them; it's a basic poison and easily extractable. The poison depends on how strong the user is sometimes able to temporarily stun, when strong enough capable of permanently paralyzing someone, and finally, the ability to kill someone (S-rank).
