Ladies and gentleman. I love this game. It is a video game that kindly reminds me why I love video games so much. Were it not for ArmedDragoon showing me this back in 2014, I would have never known this thing existed.

Lost Dimension is a Tactical RPG that plays similarly to Valkyrie Chronicles, only instead of a cover system you have nearby allies performing Assist Attacks. Provided they are in range, but that doesn't need to be said.

The year is 2025, a fabulously dressed terrorist calling himself "The End" launched a simultaneous attack across the world and announces that in 13 days, he will launch nuclear warheads on every major city. If they want to stop him, they must climb up the mysterious tower that appeared in New York City called "The Pillar" and kill him before those 13 days elapse.

To accomplish this mission, the United Nations forms a special military group called "SEALED". However, out of the unknown number of SEALED members, only the 11 psychics of SEALED were able to make it inside, with their memories tampered with; unable to recall how they made it inside. The 11 psychics consist of Sho Kasugai, Yoko Tachibana*, Toya Orbert, Himeno Akatsuki*, Mana Kawai*, Nagi Shishioka*, Sojiro Sagara, Zenji Maeda, Marco Barbato, Agito Yuki, and Hyper Psychometric George "AMERICAAAAN" Jackman.
*Try to avoid getting into an argue over who is Best Girl. As far as I can tell, this is that one game where all girls are Best Girls.

Here's one problem however. There is a traitor among your team of eleven, and you have to find them before you reach the top where you will encounter The End. At the end of each stratum, SEALED will be forced to cast their votes in the Room of Judgement on who they believe is the traitor. Whoever has the most votes is "Erased" and their Fate Materia-the source of their psychic powers-is left behind for the other members to use.You must use Sho's Vision, and your detective skills, in order to find the traitor. If any traitors are spared when you reach the final boss, they will immediately attack you and you are one more member short; making the Final Boss that much harder. If Sho Kasugai himself is erased, however, it is Game Over. This game has an autosave feature, so whatever choices you make you have no choice but to own up to them.

Fair warning, The End is not a pushover. Even if you Erased all the Traitors and kept a full party he is still capable of having your butt on a silver platter. Might wanna be careful when fighting him.

The RNG in this game is pure evil because, with the exception of one case, all traitors are randomly selected per playthrough. Expect to have your heart broken because there's a good chance at least one of your favorite characters will become a traitor.

Writing and voice acting is excellent in this game. While the main story doesn't give much in the way of anything special, it changes based on who was Erased. For example: if Sojiro was Erased, Toya will start up a conversation that Sojiro would have normally done in a cutscene later in the game. The real meat of the story is your interactions with the SEALED members. Traitors or not, there is always something to learn about them as you climb up the tower to save the world from destruction. Increase your trust with them and you will do a special character quest with that character, which you can only play once per playthrough so make it count. Clear the character quest and you will be able to complete the friendship chain which can reward you with bro-tier loyalty, a confession of love, or perhaps... a subtle confession that they're a traitor doomed to opposing you and hope you make the right decision at Judgement.

By the way, this game doesn't come with dual audio. If you wanted to listen to the Japanese voices with the English translation, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Despite my love for this game, it is undeniably flawed. However, despite those flaws, it is a perfectly playable game with lovable characters, an experience that can send you on a feels trip, and that oh-so satisfaction you will get when you finally punch The End's face in for the BS he made you go through.

I recommend you get this game if you're looking for a good 20 Hour-Long game with high replay value to spend your weekend.

Lost Dimension has been released on North America and Europe as of July 28th and August 28th respectively.
