Unlike other RPs, how skilled you are with Nen comes down to exactly how much time and effort you are willing to devote to it; in an effort to make our RP more like the source material it is based off of, we have introduced a simple but powerful system that can make or break you in fights. Against two equally strong characters, with equally powerful Hatsu, their battle can be decided simply by the strength or weakness of their basic Nen techniques.
You'll see on your character application that aside from Stats and Hatsu, you have a list of basic Nen Techniques that are all at level 1 or 2. We want you to devote only as much training as you feel you need in them; for the cautious, you may want to devote your points to Ken and En, while the more combative may want to devote their time to Shu and Ko. This allows for more realistic combat, as well as a way for characters to feel more unique.
Below I've listed each of the basic Nen techniques and what each rank does, at the center of this system is Ten, where increasing each rank in Ten will offer your passive benefits or allow you access to an advanced technique.
Ten
Ten is mostly about receiving minor passive benefits and granting characters access to the more advanced Nen techniques.

Level 6: Your skill in aura has risen to allow you to use Ryu Level 7: Your aura allows you to shirk off ordinarily debilitating sicknesses and poisons, as well as survive off very short amounts of sleep.
