Went Dec 1st. Open second season gun . Anywhere you can get to easily has no deer . One set of tracks after second bridge . Did not hunt the eastern portion but believe it to be like where I hunted . I hunted after the forth bridge . This is where the easy part and rd. ends . They have not bushhogged it . it is over grown and very thick to the point of not being able to move unless you are on a game trail . The north field is plowed under corn and the south field is cut soy beans . The area is full of deer , as they are hunting the private land hard and the deer are in our field in deep cover . How do I know this .

I hunted the abandon farm house . It is in a place that can only be found by those who have been there before . Saw 5 does that were pushed out of the private land , got off 2 misses , they never stopped moving . Went straight into the cover and disappeared . Lots of sign , but that was all I saw .

A warning note ...... Being that the state is broke they are not cleaning the pipes under the bridges and they are clogged . Be very careful if you must cross a bridge with water going over it . Do this only if caught on the wrong side . Bridge 2 will get some water but bridge 4 is bad and will get deep .

Update .... rumor mill from the employees is that IDNR are cutting permit numbers down to only 20 hunters to the area . If true not all bad news , it means 100 percent that hunting is a great way to control animal populations while making money instead of using sharp shooters over bait { which helps spread CWD } at over $400.00 per deer .
