Deer cooler

We had some panels for a walk in freezer in the warehouse 2 twelve ft and 2 ten ft. Carl said to get rid of them so now they are on my trailer. Gonna pour a pad big enough to have a skinning room and cutting room since I dont have the cost of the cooling room to deal with. Might even put on a room to store all my hunting gear. Tina told me to make it big enough for a bed cause she tired of hearing me come in so late and getting up at the butt crack of dawn waking her up. e522675 hope to have it done by bow season this year so I can actually hunt the season and not worry about the heat and meat spoiling.

I recently saw a couple of youtube videos on "how to build a walk-in cooler". A lot of good ideas!!!

You've got a good leg up since you have the insulated panels and won't have to make your own.

not sure which section I put it in, but posted the link to that device that bypasses the temp controller on the AC unit on here. still have to tear down the old building, then build the new one for the cooler and replacement shed.

16X24 total size. cooler and butcher shop will be 16X8. figure that's enough to hang at least 4 deer. will put 8 total hooks in it. buy the pulley systems in as I need them.

I watched that video and then asked the refrigeration guy for the store about it and he said yeah it works but an easier way and cheaper was to just pull the little wire that reads the temperature off the coil put it in a box with a low watt bulb and it would keep the AC unit running continuously till you shut it off. Not a heat and air guy myself but that seems like it would work. If the thermostat was set as low as it would go it would be just like it's trying to cool a room that's above the thermostat setting.basicly your just fooling the AC into thinking it hasn't cooled the room.

Picked up a timer switch today to hook AC to. Can set it to run ac at timed intervals from one to eight hours. Came off the motor room lights at store since we put in new security light. Now if I could just find somewhere to get concrete for floor for free. That stuff is high.

Check with the guys who work for the concrete company. Most of 'em usually have to end up getting rid of the excess by just dumping it in a waste pile back at the plant. If you offer 'em a few bucks they'll often be willing to dump it for individuals; but you'd have to be ready and able to work it yourself. Go ahead and form up your site and have a float board ready and waiting. You may have to get a couple of dumps to completely do your slab, so keep an extra form board on hand so you can block the concrete from spreading too thin when the guy brings it.

Ron all the concrete jobs I was on I don't recall them ever have much left over, the foreman usually figured out how much they should bring. Most I remember them having left over was about a half a Wheel Barrel.

Got a old neighbor down by my old farm that has a mixer. I'm just gonna have a load of sand and gravel brought out and buy contractor bags of cement and mix CV and pour myself. I can handle a 8x12 pad by myself pretty easy with my boy mixing. Gonna pour 3 pads with expansion joints in between with rods for pins every two feet or so to keep it level. Like them said most overages are less than a wheel barrel full. Unless you just have someone who can't do math. Lol that stuff to expensive to over order around here.

I've seen 'em dump more than a few wheel barrow loads at the plant here in town. Then again, the majority of concrete ordered around here is by homeowners doing their own projects rather than contractors. I've heard guys talk about pouring a small slab and mentioning order a couple of yards, so obviously they don't realize how many square feet a couple of yards will provide.

I over ordered on a basement once because I forgot to take out for Windows. Lol it happens with diy projects I

I have never ever ever ordered too much concrete because I forgot to take out for Windows and set of French doors in a basement. Nope never done it. At least not after the first time. Lol it happens but it gets expensive if you do it alot.
