When did this parenting thing get so hard?
This was so not what parenting was supposed to be – the meltdowns, the back talk, the hitting, the screaming and yelling (on both sides), the loneliness, the confusion, and the overall fatigue! Being the parent of a school aged kid was not supposed to be this hard. Was it? And, don’t even get started on managing the behaviors of tween. I mean, weren’t they supposed to wait until they were teens before I got all the attitude and stomping off to their rooms in anger?

I know you set out to parent different than you were raised, and to end the cycles of abuse and pain that plagued your childhood. But, no matter what you’ve tried, you seem to be doomed to repeat the same mistakes that your parents made.

Let’s change that today!
