Character Creation

1) When creating your character you must come up with a sensible name, background history and personality traits. These will allow you to role-play your character in more depth.

2) Your main character is the character you role-play the majority of the time and keep alive the longest. The minor character is just for trying something different, or experience a different variation of roleplay.

Locations

1) If you want to make one of your Buzz rooms into a location for Elder Scrolls Roleplay, firstly decide what location you want to make. You can make ruins, your house, shops, bars and anything you can think pretty much!

2) When making your Buzz room into a location make it look as realistic as possible. Refrain from adding in Buzz rares just to make yourself look rich. For example if your making a forest type place add alot of plants or if it's inside a building use lodge or dungeon.

3) Just because you can see locations on the "Theme Rooms" list on Habbo doesn't mean you can magicly appear in them all. If your moving from one location to another try to actually role-play your journey by riding in on a horse or walking, it's very unrealistic if people just click on all of the different locations and appear there instantly.

4) Before you enter any location on Buzz make sure to read the owner's description of the room, if it says the location is hidden then your character can't go there unless it's been agreed with the owner of the room as part of a role-play storyline.

5) Keep your character in the correct locations, unless they have a valid reason for being somewhere else. For example if your character is a Daedra then they're not going to be sitting outside the Arcane University doing nothing or if your character is a thief they aren't going to be in the middle of the Oblivion Plains!

Communication

1) When your character is talking keep the chat box in "Say" form. Realisticly someone at the other end of a room isn't going to be able to hear what they're saying. Only have your chat box in "Shout" form when your character is actually shouting.

2) Out Of Character conversation should be kept completely off the chat screen. It ruins the atmosphere of a room and you will be kicked out if you repeatidly speak Out Of Character. Keep it in non role-playing rooms, your console, msn or anywhere else where it's not going to ruin someone's role-playing experience. However, if you do need to announce something Out Of Character you must put square brackets around it (Example: [Blah blah blah]). This does not mean you can sit in a role-playing room speaking Out Of Character with brackets all of the time because that still ruins the atmosphere and will also get you kicked from the room.

3) If your character needs to contact someone elses character who's in a different location, they will have to write a message. You can use the Habbo console system to send messages to other characters. All you have to do is firstly on the chat screen emote the action of sending the message and them recieving it (Example: *as you would recieve a letter from me*, *the message would read...*). Secondly you'll need to open up your Habbo console and select the person who's character your sending a comlink message to. Then in the console chat screen type in "*Message*" at the top, so your friend know's it's an In Character message, then add the rest of the message below it. The character on the receiving end will then read the message and send a message back using the same method.

Mottos/Missions

1) Your Motto/Mission on your Habbo character can state a variety of things like your character's name or profession. One thing it must contain is what weapons your character is carrying (Example: LS for Longsword or just Longsword). This is so that if you enter into combat you can't randomly pull out any weapon of your choice.

2) Make sure your Motto/Mission makes it clear that you are role-playing in Elder Scrolls Roleplay. You cannot enter any role-playing situation with a proper Motto/Mission.

3) Just because you can read other people's Mottos/Missions doesn't mean that you character knows that information about them. For example your character can't magicly know a stranger's name, profession or what weapon they are carrying.

Acting

1) Remember that any role-playing we do is all only acting. So don't take something that another person's character has said to yours personaly.

2) Keep all Out Of Character and In Character knowledge completly seperate. You can't use something you know Out Of Character to effect the way your characters act. For example if you know there's a storyline about the the Emperor being corrupt and your character is a normal civilian, there is no way that they can know the Emperor is corrupt. Also remember to keep the knowledge of your different characters completly seperate aswell, just because one of your characters has learned something doesn't mean they've all learned it.

3) Try and memorize your character's background history and personality traits. This will make it easier to role-play the character and give your character's something different to talk about in a conversation.

4) Role-play your character's personality traits properly. If your character is supposed to be a peaceful happy person then don't have them going on killing sprees for no reason. If you want your character's personality traits to change then role-play the change properly.

Storylines

1) The key to having fun role-playing is coming up with storylines and events to role-play out with your characters. It's best to arrange what happens in these events Out Of Character with your friends before they take place. However, that does not mean you can't have some improvised role-play from time to time.

2) You can only make up storylines for your own characters and other people's if they have agreed to let you. Any major storylines will be posted onto the Forum after the Roleplay Staff have considered a strong storyline that will enhance your roleplaying experience within the roleplay.

3) You can not force someone into a role-play situation that they don't want to be in. It's as much their role-play as it is yours and anything you do that effects their characters history must be agreed upon by both parties beforehand.
