On the Claiming of Colonies There has recently been a lot of requests for colonies, both from nations within Ellorea and from nations outside of Ellorea. I would like to make the official processes and rules regarding claiming colonies written down since we want to try to conserve as much land as possible for new nations and a bunch of colonies taking up space isn't going to work very well. We want to promote each individual government's IC policies, but we also need to conserve space for newer nations. Hence, the following policies are in effect. On Colonies by Ellorean Nations
On Colonies by Foreign Nations

On the Ellorean Resource Map The following map depicts a wide breadth of resources scattered throughout the Ellorean region. Now, these are simply the five largest deposit / location of these resources throughout the region (unranked in order of magnitude). Therefore, if your nation lacks a given resource on the map, that does not necessary mean that you lack any of that resource at all. As this is NS RP, you have access to as many resources as you want within the borders of your nation; however, the five largest deposits have been allocated already and cannot be surpassed. Land Resources: Land resources are those, rather obviously, located on land. Typically within your nation's borders, these resources can be utilized by your nation's government or private companies at any given time. Furthermore, the rights to exploit these resources could be sold to foreign nations / companies if you so wish. Should the pin marking the location of a land resource be lost in a war or land-trade settlement, your nation loses the ability to utilize this resource.
Sea Resources: Unlike land resources, sea resources are rather surprisingly, based in the sea. However the differences continue, as sea resources (due to their innate nature) are not restricted in the same sense as land resources. Thus, any nation / company is able to exploit or claim any sea resource around the region; if you have the diplomatic, economic or military strength to back such a claim up.
