Look for it on NBC today at 4 p.m.:

Personally, I can hardly think of anything more boring than watching gymnastics, short of actually performing gymnastics. But I'll watch it for the skating.
These Disson shows are odd creations. The best ever were the two that featured the music group Celtic Woman, although sadly Emily wasn't a part of those. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what she wears on today's program, and to what music she performs.

Emily proves there's more to a great skater than gold medals

I'd like to tell a little story of something very special that happened recently. I went to Skate America 2009 (yay!!) and had a great time, and got a lot of autographs, although Emily's was elusive, and I was pretty disappointed that she didn't do autographs for anyone. While there I also met a couple people from online. One person that I was supposed to meet didn't show up. It turns out she had spent the entire weekend in her hotel room. She is 18 and battling Lyme disease and was too sick to get out of bed, and gave her front-row seats away to her friends. She missed the entire event.
When I got back I found out about this, and I contacted Emily via her website and told her about it. Well, Emily got the message and took the time out of her busy schedule (right away!) to send this girl a signed picture and a nice long note about her experiences at Skate America, just in time for Thanksgiving. That is absolute class. I was floored. I figured she would MAYBE send something in the spring or summer, after the season was over.
So, if you ever had any doubts that Emily was an angel, they are now erased.
I just really wanted Emily fans to know about this.
I also have a lot of good Emily pics from SA, and I'll be sharing them soon.

Emily to be in Macy's Parade

I keep forgetting to post this. Emily will be skating on a float (!) in the traditional, Thanksgiving-occasioned Macy's Parade, which airs on Thursday:

I can't wait to see what Emily will wear, and how she'll perform in such close quarters!

This will be the 83rd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It starts at 9 a.m. Thursday, November 26 [on NBC] with Today stars Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, and Al Roker providing the commentary.
