Warlock changes so far:

EDIT: A large amount of credit goes out to Neinball who provided much of the Demonology information in his thread, and SirFlipper for the Destruction information. Again, if anybody can provide any info or correct me in the places where I'm wrong, just let me know. PM'ing me might actually work best, just so the info doesn't get lost in the thread. So, since Warlocks changed more than any other class, I figured we should start a thread that compiles all of the new info. I don't have a beta invite yet, so I'll need you guys to help out as much as possible. If my info is incorrect in any way, incomplete or if you have something that I've missed, let me know and I'll update the OP as I go along. I will be putting ALL of the Warlock changes in this thread, so even if you have known about changes since Blizzcon, please don't keep pointing it out. This thread is meant to provide everyone with info, including those that haven't looked into the changes at all. Keep any discussion respectful and constructive please, I don't want this thread to get locked because of trolls. Since we now have a way to check things, anything that I haven't seen confirmed I will mark as such with (***). If you guys have any way to confirm or correct me, please do so. Pets
- With Griomoire of Supremacy you upgrade your Demons, you can do that, no matter your spec
Imp -> Fel Imp Singe Magic morphs to "Burn Magic", does the same but is an AoE (similar to Mass Dispell, but a lot smaller) Voidwalker -> Void Lord The Void Lord can disarm now and he gets a Threatbuff (as far as I can tell) Succubus -> Shivara Shivara gains "Fel Lash", a Knockback Felhunter -> Observer "Dispell Magic" morphs to "Clone Magic", which works like Mages "Spell Steal", the buff is transfered to the casting Observer, not to the warlock Felguard -> Wrathguard "Cleave" morphs to "Mortal Cleave" and applies a Mortal Strike to the targets hit as well (-25% Healing) Infernal -> Abyssal Doomguard -> Terrorguard - Current Pet DPS numbers
Imp: 4059 DPS (2.737.118 Damage Done, ~ 675s = 11:15, 171 events (171~0.253/s special)) Felhunter: 5416 (3.363.094, ~ 619s = 10:19, 430 events (107~0.173/s special, 323 ~0.52/s melee)) Succubus: 5534 (3.059.183, ~ 553s = 9:13, 405 events (93~0.168/s special, 312~0.564/s melee)) Voidwalker: 5227 (3.557.864, ~ 681s = 11:11, 570 events (87~0.128/s special, 393~0.577/s melee)) Felguard: 5002 (1.786.501, ~357s = 6min, 57s, 262 events (62~0.174/s special, 200~0.560/s melee)) - With Grimoir of Supremacy
Fel Imp: 4749 (1.279.601, ~ 269s = 4:29, 71 events (71~0,263/s special)) = + ~17% Observer: 5104 (1.858.277, ~ 364s = 6:04, 222 events (54~0.148/s special, 168~0.461/s melee)) = -5.8% Shivara: 5860 (3.396.952, ~ 580s = 9:40, 388 events (99~0.170/s special, 289~0.498/s melee)) = +5.8% Void Lord: 5765 (2.504.672 ~ 434s = 7:14, 309 events (58~0,133/s special, 251~0.578/s melee)) = +10.3% Wrathguard: 6994 (3.318.630, ~ 475s = 7:55, 589 events (81~0.170/s special, 507~1.06/s melee)) = +39.8%
Affliction
- Soul Shards & Soulburn are now Affliction only
- Malefic Grasp replaces Shadowbolt as the main filler at level 42
- Soulburn now has a 15 Sec CD, with each spell only being able to be Soulburned every 60 seconds
Spells able to be soulburned Summon Demon: Instant Summon Drain Life: Heals 400% more Soul Fire: Instant, Stuns the target for 2 seconds Health Funnel Fear: since a soulburned Fear is a horror effect, it does not share a DR with Fear, it will however share a DR other horror effects such as Death Coil Curse Demonic Circle: Teleport Healthstone Seed of Corruption - Bane of Agony now has a 1 target limit
- Drain Soul now generates a Soul Shard every 4 second, meaning the target doesn't have to die anymore
- Nightfall now gives the chance to generate a Soul Shard for every Corruption and Drain Life tick
- Improved Fear has been baked into Affliction; 30% movement slow when Fear ends
- Mastery has been reworked slightly to only include UA, Corruption and BoA
- Haunt is back in the game: Costs 1 Soul Shard, 1.5 Second Cast, No Cooldown; deals shadow damage and increases all damage done by you on the target by 40% for 8 seconds, the self heal has been removed from this spell
Demonology
- Demonic Fury caps at 1000, outside of Meta you have a base of 200 Demonic Fury and it regenerates to 200 if below once you exit combat.
- Metamorphosis has a 10 second CD, and costs 12 Demonic Fury per 3 seconds, it also increases the benefit from Demonic Fury by 100%
- Meta no longer snapshots your stats and now updates them dynamically
- While in Meta, all spells except for Hand of Gul'dan cost Demonic Fury, even though Corruption ticks still generate it.
- All pet spells become instant while in Meta and cost 250 Demonic Fury; any pet you summon during Meta will be put on a 1min CD.
- Pet special attacks generate 24 Demonic Fury
- During Metamorphosis many spells change and you gain some new spells/effects
- Shadowbolt turns into Demonic Slash
- Hellfire turns into Immolation Aura
- Shadowflame turns into Carrion Swarm
- Fel Flame turns into Ray of Twilight
- You gain Nether Plating
- You gain Cursed Auras
Abilities that generate Demonic Fury - Shadowbolt: 25 Demonic Fury
- Corruption: 12 Demonic Fury per tick
- Soul Fire: 40 Demonic Fury
- Hand of Gul'dan: 25 Demonic Fury if target has not been struck by Gul'dan's Grasp
- Shadowflame: 15 Demonic Fury
- Demonic Leap was changed slightly; it now has a shorter CD, and if used out of Metamorphosis will activate it
- Bane of Doom is now Demonology only, Everlasting Affliction also seems to apply to it
- Demonic Rebirth has been baked into the spec, 2 min ICD, 20 sec duration
- Hand of Gul'dan has been changed completely; it is now targeted the way you target Rain of Fire, it has three charges and is instant cast, the targeting reticle stays up until all 3 charges have been used, the damage is now AoE and goes out after 2.5 seconds
- Gul'dan's Grasp is a new passive ability that gets activated when Hand of Gul'dan deals damage, it gives a stacking movement speed debuff, essentially reducing it by 90% if hit by all three charges
- Decimation changed a bit, essentially limits the use of Soul Fire for Demonology to 1 Soul Fire every 30 seconds
- Shadowflame is Demonology only now, hasn't changed otherwise
- Mastery: it was changed slightly to finally benefit us outside of Meta by including the Demonic Fury damage benefit
- Wild Imps; new Demonology only ability, essentially this ability gives you lots of imps, all of which generate Demonic Fury
- In Metamorphosis your Auto Attack will refresh Corruption, and yes you need to be in melee range for this
- You can still channel Hellfire while moving
Destruction
- Chaotic Energy is a new Destruction mechanic that essentially turns our mana bar into a longer lasting version of Energy
100k base Mana, 31,378 mana every 5 second (in combat, independent from Intelligence) Incinerate: 17,500 (2s base casttime) Soul Fire: 38,500 (4s) Immolate: 8,750 (1.5s) Conflag: 0 (instant) Fel Flame: 14,000 (instant) Rain of Fire: 29,700 - Destruction now has a new resource called Burning Embers (the in game tooltips show one full Ember as 10 Embers, not sure if intended)
You can have up to 3 Embers (4 glyphed), you get a debuff depending on how many Embers you have 1 Ember - 1% max HP damage every 3 seconds 2 Embers - 1% max HP damage every 2 seconds 3 Embers - 1% max HP damage every second You can die from the debuff Embers tick down quickly when out of combat Spells that gain Burning Embers Incinerate generates .1 Burning Embers on hit, .2 Burning Embers on Critical Hit Fel Flame generates .1 Burning Embers on hit, .2 Burning Embers on Critical Hit Spells that consumer Burning Embers (all spells that consume Embers seem to consume 1) Fire and Brimstone, your next Immolate, Conflag, Incinerate or Curse hits all targets within 15 yards of the target and deals 220% of its normal damage Soul Fire (having 1 or more Burning Embers makes this spell cost no mana), 4 second cast, guaranteed critical strike and your crit chance increases Soul Fire's damage Ember Tap, heals you for 27% of your HP (***) maximum HP or current HP? Shadowburn, no CD, now deals FAR more damage, still only usable on targets below 20% health, if the target dies within 5 seconds the Ember is refunded Flames of A'lar, 1 min CD, instantly revives your last active demon - Conflagrate now has 2 charges, you gain 1 charge every 12 seconds, you no longer need to have Immolate on the target
- Backdraft only affect Incinerate, reduces the cast time by 30%, 3 charges, still triggered by Conflagrate
- Rain of Fire is no longer channeled, stuns targets that are hit twice, deals 50% additional damage to targets that are Immolated
- Backlash is now backed into the spec
- Havoc replaces Bane of Havoc, 2 min CD, your next 4 single target spells also strike the baned target
- Destructive Influence; a level 86 passive ability, causes our demon's attacks to lower the cast time of our Soul Fire (I know I haven't done this in the rest of the thread, but a little personal note for clarification. This ability causes two issues, it makes Destruction incompatible with Grimoir of Sacrifice, and it means that the pet with the fastest attack speed will be the default best pet for Destro. We should be able to take all talents in our tree and have them work with our spec, which currently isn't the case if DI stays this way. Blizz also wanted all pets to do the same damage, so we can choose pets based on utility and preference, which most likely will not be possible with this ability.)
- Mastery; now increases damage done by Immolate, Incinerate, Conflag, and Soul Fire
