Right im going to play for an hour or so. I think the way im going to do make a post each time I play and edit things in as I play. 23:52 Right were the fuck is my PS3 controller. 23:59 yeah I can see how that intro would have been impressive 15 years ago 00:03 Fixed camera is annoying 00.06 I think im fighting a parrot 00:17 so does the black guy live in my pocket or something? 00.34 well I think committing my first terrorist attack by blowing up a power station is a good time to end it for tonight. - I never actually liked the intro that much, theres nothing wrong with it but was always quite bland. The only point of note from it was the introduction of the flower girl and setting the scene and scope of midgar slums. The real point of revolution was its starting pace of throwing you off a train and right into battle from the get go. Rpgs in the previous era were infamous for starting really slowly, usually waking up in your bed or in some peaceful village before the shit goes down. Was just a standard intro at the time anyways, they really went all out for making FF8's intro and to try make that impressive. Thats 12 years old now, I still think it holds up well. What do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOBIia5_MNE (up to 3:12) - I miss the days I never had to worry about rotating a camera ![]() - ...I have no idea where there are parrots within 3 minutes of starting the game. At this point I'm wondering if you loaded the correct game and aren't playing Micro Machines V3 or something. - Sigh. I hate when people try to put logic into video games. Like when folks complain that Link is carrying around 40 weapons in a tiny bag. If they showed your entire party walked around with you it'd obstruct the scenery, its just an abstraction. Also his name is Barrett. ¬_¬ - I actually wonder if they'd have scripted AVALANCHE like they had in the post-9/11 super PC world. Their motives of rebellion and actions of bombing regardless of civilian casualties would be a bit of a controversial area these days. Edited by Aurora, May 19 2012, 11:55 PM.

-Yeah I did notice that the first 30 minutes did seem pretty fast paced, it even had a timed section! -Your right the FF8 intro is pretty stunning for its age. -There was definitely multiple parrots. -They could have just made him walk off screen! |

The intro section felt slightly repetitive although I cant put my finger on why. Other then that I did actually enjoy it and i do actually want to play more. |

We also learned that all of the below are identical and indistinguishable from one another. It's a parrot, Ivysaur and Kraken though I have no idea which is which. Edited by Aurora, May 31 2012, 02:02 PM.
