I like how it starts chucking 10,000 Gil at you for each fight, now that you're never gonna spend it! |

The gilgamesh intervention was brilliant. His final words of advice were so awful, especially for Faris. ![]() ExDeaths first form was pretty simple, I just casually went through while putting up haste/shell/armor/regen buffs so I was ready for the next phase. Elixiring Faris and Lenna before the transition since they were my main damage dealers and needed the MP. Took a couple of attempts but eventually got him, really difficult boss. Never felt safe through the whole fight. I had heard the ending is different that whoever dies during this fight is dead in the ending, but everyone was alive for me. ![]() Bartz was set up for me as a Knight with a Mystic Knight on the side for magic sword. Was fantastic in the field for oneshotting enemies without wasting MP but was a total passenger in the major fights. He just wound up being the lackey using items and guard to protect the more valuable team members. Never got the Brave sword powered up enough to surpass Excalibur. Could probably have done more with him. ![]() Cara was a monk with summoner on the side although I'm not sure why since I never really used any of her monk skills in boss battles, just wound up doing whatever was needed during the game. In the final battle her job was simple, summon Bahamut. Then summon Bahamut again. ![]() Was a liability throughout the game as a Red Mage / Time Mage lacking in any real serious power with stuff like Comet and Fire/Ice/Bolt 2. Until I eventually got Meteor and the Red Mage finally maxxed at 999 for X Magic. Had her as a Mimic in the end for the armor choice and doublecasting Meteor every turn for huge damage to everything. ![]() Probably my most valuable character through the game, was set up as a mimic with both black magic and white magic perfected and felt very OP when combined with what Faris was doing. Was slightly slower than Faris so could mimic her doublecasts every time, could Cure3 all when needed, could Holy, could Flare, could Mimic Bahamut. A one character army, struggled a lot without her in the pyramid. Was a really fun playthrough, enjoyed it more than the first time I played it. |

Dunno if you've seen this but an iOS version of FFV came out in the last few weeks. It looks like a first year graphics project.![]() |

Yeah I took a slightly different approach and went all out attack on Exdeath. Only used Shell on the two casters of mine. Finished the fight with 3 alive. Cara was resigned to death from the first minute, didn't really bother ressing her.![]() My key to beating Exdeath! Dimen > Quick > Double Cast Bahamut = Win! Mixed it with Phoenix at times actually to get Bartz back on his feet .Summoner/Time Mage throughout. ![]() She kinda lacked in boss fights a bit since they had higher armour I guess. Was great for clearing the way to bosses and grinding though, as she had one of the Legendary Daggers that frequently cast Death on the enemy. Even on the Behemoths! Would definitely build her different in a future play-through though. Maybe making her another Mage or Summoner would have contributed a lot more. ![]() Black/White Mage. Mainly used as a Healer/Shell/Protector, contributed with Black Magic/Holy when possible though. ![]() Pure Knight with Double Grip. Excalibur was comfortably hitting for around 4-5k each time, so was just a matter of keeping him alive and making sure he was haste to get some serious damage out there quickly. Really enjoyed it! Would happily play it again at some point.
