Trying out Paine in the black mage role, shes having problems getting her casts out before everything is dead but is very useful on bosses.

Might as well try building a healer for tougher battles as well, using a thunder ring so she has some offensive spells to use too.

Yeah the chaining and how actions happen simultaneously is really nice, I'd say it was the backbone behind the XIII battle system.

Yeah it's very similar. I do prefer having outright control over my party though. That's the one thing that I wasn't happy with in XIII.
