The Alternative being revamped

It's Bayley!
In 2013, AXW had its main eponymous show on Saturday nights, and before AXW closed, was scheduled to have a show called "The Alternative" which aired on Wednesday Nights.

The Alternative was supposed to be a show where talent could get some television time if they were not featured on the eponymous show. The Alternative was going to have its own broadcast team, interviewers, and ring announcers, to give itself a different feel from the eponymous show, while still being similar.

In 2014, The Alternative made its debut, but as a more "watered down" version of the original idea, so to speak.

Many fans were quite surprised when they tuned into The Alternative Episode 9 and saw AXW's top champions, Justin Wyndham, Jean-Pierre Frontenac, and Damien Steele competing on what the fans label as the "B-show." This is because TRENT is looking to make The Alternative a more important show that can run side by side with the eponymous show, rather than being a "B-show" as the fans seem to call it.

"Luke Mathews couldn't get the job done." TRENT says. "He wanted the Alternative to be a bigger show, but it just wasn't. I plan on doing what he couldn't do. I'm going to make the Alternative what it's supposed to be. I'm also not gonna run this company into the ground like he did."

When asked if Jon Hendon or Zack Fields will be commentating on the show, TRENT stated that they will remain referees and for the foreseeable future, Mike Vincent and Cole Haywood will still be calling the action. Rumor has it that this is to help Cole Haywood develop a bit more, since TRENT is high on him.

Jen Brunelli, who was supposed to be the ring announcer for The Alternative, will finally be making her debut. Salvatore Pellegrino will still be doing the announcing on the eponymous Thursday Night show.

The Alternative is scheduled to still air on Fridays after the Thursday show, but the plan is to stop taping it on Thursdays, and instead tape it on the Friday it airs, as its own stand-alone event in its own venue. This week's episode will still be taped on Thursday, prior to the AXW Supershow.
