Name: Steve Corman Born: Feb. 24, 1970 From: Hamilton, Ontario. Currently Residing: Las Vegas, Nevada
Steve Corman grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He became interested in wrestling at a very young age. He started training at 12 in Toronto. By 18 he went out west to train out of the Stu Hart dungeon. Stu was impressed with Corman's size and how technically sound he was for a "big man". Corman wrestled in several feds across Canada but got his first real break with a fed out of Alton Illinois called Extreme Online Wrestling. He debuted as the CROW, a knock off of the Brandon Lee movie which carried the same name. Corman quickly became a superstar with this federation, immediately entering into top feuds with the feds Superstar Main Eventer Brad Wiemers. However within a few weeks, it became apparent that EOW was in financial trouble. Owner Tim Albright approached Steve behind closed doors about taking over the company. At that time, Steve had not had any experience running a company but decided to give it a shot. Corman discovered he was a natural at being a booker. His ideas helped and story lines helped EOW become one of the most popular feds ever. At the feds peek, Corman's roster reached over 100 active wrestlers. EOW had offices in Illinois, Nashville and Toronto Canada. Corman also started separate side ventures with the money he made. Corman founded XSN, the Xtreme Sports Network which broadcasts all across Canada and the Eastern states of America. He also started a Wrestling Training school in both Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (GHWA) and in Dallas Texas. (Lone Star Championship Wrestling). When Corman officially stepped down as EOW's CEO, he decided to hire a former EOW Wrestler to run LSCW in Texas, and Corman privately funded the school to become an active indy fed, turning this into another very successful venture. Steve Corman retired from "fed heading" in 2001 after selling the LSCW to a private investor. He also sold share of GHWA in Hamilton to long time friend and associate Mike Mancini. These days Steve Corman is semi retired. He owns a majority share in his television network and lives his life doing all the things he enjoys.
That was until Steve received a call from long time friend and fellow Canadian Wrestling enthusiast Derek Sharp. Sharpie told Steve that he was restarting a defunct wrestling fed NNCR. Derek and Steve had been looking for a joint business venture, so Corman jumped at the opportunity to work with Derek. But that all changed very quickly. On the debut PPV for NNCR, Corman made a coup for total control of NNCR, quickly ousting his partner. Corman ran NNCR until it's final show on Feb 23 2008, the day before his 38th Birthday. At this point, NNCR and UcW Joined under the banner UEW, however this venture died before ever getting off the ground.
While UcW closed it's doors, Corman returned to Canada, and began working with the students again at GHWA until he got a call from Scott Slaney that they were going to reopen UcW and he wanted Steve to come on as a road agent. During his return to UcW, Steve had a brief on screen cameo as long time friend Mike Raboin brought Steve out of retirement, only to turn on his mentor and brutally attack him. Corman and Raboin would have a legendary Ironman match at Legacy in which Raboin would win after a brutal attack and outside interference from Elite Entertainment Enterprises. After this loss, Corman would take some time off to work on a side project... UCF; Unlimited Combat Fighting!
Unlimited Combat Fighting debuted on July 18th 2009 on Pay Per View to Decent Numbers. The Mixed Martial Arts Brand of Unlimited Enterprises was off to a good start. However, unfortunately the promotion had some financial troubles right from the get go and only managed to produce two Pay Per View Events before the major sponsors backed out of the project.
Once UCF went under, Corman returned to UcW as an Agent. After several months of working backstage, the opportunity arose for Steve to assume the reigns of the UcW Developmental Fed as Director of Developmental Operations. Corman officially rechristened the fed UcW:Underground as a nod to his original organization EOW and its developmental Territory. He re-signed several former UcW Wrestlers and started scouting the indy federations for the next crop of Future UcW Talent. Now Corman operates both the UcW: Underground and the UcW School of HardKnocks as its head trainer. The brand officially redebutes on February 24th, almost two years to the date that NNCR Closed its doors.
On November 19th 2010, UcW officially announced the closure once and for all of Unlimited Combat Wrestling. Corman was almost immediately contacted by PRIME Wrestling to come on board as the Head of Talent Relations, to which Corman graciously agreed. Steve has also quietly crossed over into the world of Sports Talent Representation. Currently looking to recruit talent, Steve plans to run this venture in conjunction with his duties with PRIME. Corman begins his first scouting assignment for PRIME in December 2010.
Corman's time in PRIME was brief due to the fed itself being brief. However, during his tenure as Head of Talent Relations, he did find his old friend Magnum Wolf and brought him back from obscurity. Once PRIME folded, Corman turned his attentions into Talent representation, taking on Magnum Wolf as a client. Corman negotiated Wolf's deal with WsW, and then CCW when WsW Folded.
Steve Corman was then hired by Las Vegas upstart EWS as the Commissioner of the EWS FURY Brand and will also served as Junior VP of Talent Relations, reporting to Senior Manager Rick Leban. Corman did what Corman does best and made himself the focal point of EWS. Surrounded himself with Talent and brought back the HIGH ROLLERS. 2014 belonged to Steve Corman. He captured both the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the Las Vegas Fury Heavyweight Championship. He was the top heel in the top stable, in the top angle. He had a license to print money. It all came tumbling down in December 2014, when his team lost a losing captain leaves town/power match, in which Corman's team lost to Darius Jacksons team.
Corman returned to GHWA, alongside his friend Mike Mancini. GHWA and WSW had begun doing cross promotion and when ghosts from the past, the Actkinsons came back looking to put a beating on Mancini, Corman stood up for his friend. That is until the World's Collide Co-produced iPPV, where Corman turned on Mancini, bought him out of GHWA, collapsed the brand completely into Wyld Side Wrestling, which he revealed that he was actually the majority investor and therefore actually owned the company! Back up to his old ways, only time will tell what happens next!
High Rollers Entrance:
...begins to play. The crowd reacts with overall boos and jeers, but there is the small population of fans, for either nostalgia or just plain assholes, that cheer and do the hero worship wave, wearing Highrollers Merch. One by one, the Highrollers pour out from behind the curtain, lead by Corman and flanked by Riku and Logan on one side, and Braxton and Wrath on the other. Corman slowly raises his arms slowly over his head, making the trademark Highrollers hand gesture (basically the wolfpack, while moving his thumbs around in the international sign for MONEY), which is slowly copied by the other members. The group sets out for the ring, Riku and Logan harassing fans along the way, Braxton telling everyone how great he is and Corman and Wrath chatting to themselves. Reaching ringside, they spread out around the ring and climb up onto the apron, entering from different sides, coming to the center of the ring and again repeating the High Rollers hand gesture.
