Hellu, hellu everyone! ~( ‘ u ‘ )~ TL;DR I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of you don’t know me yet, but I’m Shion. Well, at least that’s my main’s IGN, haha. People in real life/Chelsea (Azaelea) call me Juli, so I’ll answer to either one since I’ve become so attached to my character. I’m currently leveling my alt, Nahyu (Kali), in hopes to get ahead of the game and create a Physical Kali when I can, but I do frequent my main. Now, I say that you may not know me yet because most of Serenade’s members will joke about how I’m one of the most inactive players, though it’s obviously true. I’m Chinese, seventeen years old, in my final year of high school, and I’ve had a lot on my shoulders in terms of schoolwork, standardized tests, and college preparations. Unfortunately, my gaming hours have been severely cut down due to the kick-start of the school year, but maybe I’ll get the chance to speak to you all if I’m lucky and happen to get on at the right time of day ( ^ ^ ) [The Girl-Gamer] You may not believe me, but I’m one of the very few people who have stuck with kDN for a very, very, very long time. I’ve been around to see the closing of the last CBT, the introduction of the OBT, and the highly-anticipated opening day of the Official Release, and now I'll be around to witness the release of the second series of EX Skills for the Third Tier Classes. I am incredibly happy to see how much this game has grown over the course of its two-and-a-half year life span. Hopefully, and surely, there’s much more to come. I’m a very erratically-paced gamer, especially when it comes to MMO-RPGs. Sometimes, I’ll level more than 7 times in a day and play for 18 hours straight. Othertimes, I may not be on for a solid week due to my busy schedule. Nevertheless, I love gaming. It’s become such a huge part of me that I simply can’t imagine myself permanently giving it up. Sure gaming’s fun, but there’s an entirely different level to everything that makes it appealing. The sights, the sounds, the stories, the thrill, and even the people we meet – they’re all a part of gaming. We can immerse ourselves in a fantastical world where everything around us transforms from the impossible into magical realism and connect with people all over the country, even the globe, and learn more about our friends who lie just beyond the screen. So in my book, gaming is interactive art. [The Asian] I want to do well in school so that I can go to college, graduate school, perhaps post-graduate school, and eventually have a good life in the future. Simply put, that one sentence and the following phrase describes my entire academic career: overachieving procrastinator. I’m serious about school and I’ll try my best, but I’ll also try not going to completely kill myself over it. Other than school, I regularly play violin and singing, and I love to draw and write – both fan-fiction and original stories. I’ve been playing violin since I was four years old, and I discovered how to make notes come forth out of my mouth a few of years ago. I’ve been practicing ever since. I sometimes post stuff on my personal YouTube channel. So far, it has a few videos of my vocal/violin covers for some game BGMs (DN and Mabinogi: Heroes) and some of my crappy gameplay videos. I love to draw. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil (or crayon, for that matter), and I’m trying to find my own style for cartooning/anime at the moment. I have a casual DeviantART account that’s a bit lacking in number of uploaded works, but I hope to start my own original web-comic for fun one day. And from just skimming over this Wall of Text you can see that I like to write. A lot. I picked it up last year at the start of my junior year in high school and have been working on a few stories, including a fan-fiction I’m writing for Dragon Nest called Dragon Nest: Fable, though I feel the need to re-write the second chapter because of how much it sucked… So that basically covers most of my hobbies. At least when I’m not stressing over schoolwork. [Just Me] I’m a silly girl with a silly mind who wants to not only make a good future for myself, but have fun with it along the way. I consider myself a very laidback person, though I do have high standards when it comes to communication and attitude/behavior. Basically, be respectful to one another and you won’t ever hear an angry Sheehawn. I don’t think you can really gauge my personality until you’ve actually met me. From reading this, you may start to think that I’m one of those typical hard-core Asian students with a stick up my ass about “moral code” who likes gaming. Well, that sentence kinda just dispelled a lot of that, didn’t it? Often than not, I curse like a sailor. Since this is an introduction thread, I’m refraining from doing so. I like to be polite when I first make an impression with someone I just recently met, then once I get a good feeling of that person’s comfort zone I’ll toss aside my filter. I’m also a closet pervert, as Chelsea described, and just for the heck of it I’ll also toss in that I’m also bisexual, albeit reserved about my sexuality in the real world and in possession of very high standards. One meaning I’m not quite “out” yet. The other meaning that I don’t go chasing after every gluteus maximus I see. Yeah. Not very typical now, am I? c: So, why in the world am I telling you this buttload of information about myself? In my eyes, people don’t need to try to be impressive in order to be liked by others. I’ve made that mistake in middle school by compulsively lying to those around me. Trust me, it doesn’t get you anywhere. You don’t need to fit yourself into a neat little box that someone else created for you; you should just be yourself, doing whatever feels natural to you just as I should be myself and do whatever feels natural to me. Make your own identity and go with it. If you don’t like something about yourself, try to change it. Living a life honest and free with the future in mind and void regret is one that I believe in. And it starts with a simple introduction addressed to a person you’ve just met. I’m Shion. Some people call me Juli, but both names are interchangeable. It’s nice to meet you, and I hope to get to know all of you well. Welcome to Serenade. I also go by my internet persona, Aemire. If you’re interested in my works, feel free to visit my blog here: Aemire's Works I always look forward to feedback, comments, and reader activity ( ^ ^ ) Edited by Shion, Sep 4 2012, 06:30 PM.
