ONYX'S AMAZING GUIDE TO GETTING YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED!

Welcome to the site. My name is Onyx and I've been role playing for many years. Probably around 7-8 years online. I've been a administrator for as long as that for many different sites over the years. I've gained a fairly good grasp of what gets accepted and what never does. This guide will hopefully allow you to polish up your profiles and allow them to be accepted no problem!

Let's get started....

When making profiles, OC or canon, you want to thoroughly! There will be on canon characters on this site but hopefully this guide will help you with any other role play as well. As a general rule, the more description the better. However, don't feel that you need a 4,000+ word biography to get accepted. We're literate, but we don't expect an essay! Simply leave room for a lot of descriptors, because we want to learn a lot about your character.

There are generally a few things you can be in this particular role play.
AEGYL.

ELVAAN.

GRIA.

HUMAN.

MITHRA.

ROEGADYN.

VIERA.

ZILART.

Each class is different, no class is the same. Humans and Elvaans are generally recommended to most newbies, as it allows the most interaction available. However, do not feel limited! We happily accept any! There will be more branches of each class, but that will be described in later posts.

PROFILE WALKTHROUGH:

Name: Simple stuff.
Nickname: Obviously a shortened, endearing (or mediocre) version of their name.
Age: More simple stuff. Be reasonable.. If you want to play as an old human, that's up to you.. I won't put any restrictions on age but be sure that it makes sense. (No 200+ year old humans)
Gender: Please don't leave this a mystery.
Height/Weight: Don't make this abnormal unless there is a good reason. A Height/Weight chart here will allow you to accurately assume their weight.
Race: Out of the races available on the site, choose one.

Favorite Quote: Self Explanatory

Picture: Optional, though recommended.
Appearance: Be thorough if you don't have a picture! And if you do have one, you still have to include what the rest of their body dis included in the picture looks like.

Distinguishing Features: A birthmark, tattoo. Anything that stands out about your character.

Personality: Be thorough here, especially. At least two paragraphs. How to they react to large groups of people? In battle? Do they have strange idiosyncrasies? Any phobias we should know about? There's PLENTY to put in personality.
Fighting Style: Obviously referring if they fight with a certain style (such as Ninjutsu, Systema, Capoeria... ect) or lack thereof. This is not limited to a style, it asks things like... they they use their environment to their advantage in a fight? Are they resourceful?

Abilities: What are their capabilities. Be sure that you understand the character race before you apply and know what abilities they posses. This will also be where magical abilities may be listed.

Special Notes: Anything else you feel that's important to tell about your RP character.

Likes: What they thoroughly enjoy.
Dislikes: What they DO NOT WANT.
Strengths/Weaknesses: What is an advantage exclusive to them, and what is their weak points? This is not limited to fighting, either. Jealousy can be seen as a weakness, or inability to cook a proper meal. Be creative. However, strengths and weaknesses exclusive to fighting (such as speed or flexibility) need to be EVEN IN NUMBER. For ever one strength, you must have one weakness. This balances the character, and will make them more believable and allow the Moderators to easily accept them.
Hobbies: What do they enjoy in their free time?

History: We're not asking for an essay, but we would love a good description of your character's past. Major points in their life should be emphasized the most. I can't stress enough how you should never skimp on the History! That's where most of the moderators can get you.

AEGYL

"You are now a people of the clouds. Leave all thoughts of the underworld behind - they need not burden you. Your place is here, in Lemures, and no other. Stray not from the Canon, and the cup of peace shall ever be full for you."
- The Canon, Book of Ardor, Canto XX

A race similar to Humes, with the exception of the large wings they have on their back. These wings can be different colors, from red to brown, and allow the Aegyl to fly without any troubles. However, the strain they put on their bodies cause them to have the shortest life span of any race, tending to live only forty years.
They also seem either unable to show emotions, or are void of them altogether. This is due to the way they summoned Espers. They used auracite to summon Espers. When someone uses auracite to summon, a part of their anima/soul is taken to the World of Illusion. In time, the anima/soul becomes tainted, and becomes a monster, which attacks the Aegyl. So, they use the auracite to summon to protect themselves at the cost of their anima/soul. This vicious cycle continues until they have no anima/soul left, leaving them the emotionless race they are now.
It is suiting that with their wings, they live in Greystone.
The Aegyl tend not to be that keen on other races, due to how most of the sky pirates that visited attacked or enslaved them.

Classes of Ageyl

ELVAAN
A race of tall, fair tanned skinned and fair faced beings, very much like Humes except for their long, pointed ears. They are very strong of mind and rather strong of body as well. A rather religious race, they also tend to be rather arrogant as well.

WarriorMonkWhite Mage
Black MageRed MageThief

Beast MasterRangerSamurai
DragoonNinjaSummoner

GRIA
A race of humanoid creatures with dragon traits. These traits include Dragonic wings upon their backs, a dragonic tail, large horns upon their heads, pointed ears, and long sharp nails. They are able to fly and much better at physical attacks over magic power.

Classes of Gria

HUMAN
Do you really need a description? The majority of the population of the world. They also seem, more or less, in charge.
Physical Class
WarriorMonkSamurai

Magical Class
White MageBlack MageSummoner

Red MageBlue MageBeast Master

MITHRA
An agile race of cat-like humanoids. They are not particularly powerful, intelligent, or charismatic, but make up with that for their sheer speed and athletic abilities. This has lead to them being labeled as thieves and cheats. There seem to only be females of this race, the exact nature of the males being unknown to all. It may be that the males are rather rare and something of a commondity.
How they are doing now: Often seen as slaves, these are the Mithra that are too young and un-skilled to defend themselves in battle, or were injure during the fusion and captured before they could heal, or found alone and overwhelmed. The majority of them are free, and hiding away, planning to get revenge for their sisters.

ROEGADYN
The Roegadyn are a sea faring people with massive, muscular builds. Though quite intimidating due to their sheer size at first, not all Roegadyn are the thuggish brutes they resemble. Many Roegadyn are softhearted and introspective. Due to their size many Roegadyn make excellent warriors, brutes, and soldiers, but there has been word of a secretive group of Roegadyn who have become fluent in the powerful arts of magic and the arcane.

VIERA
A race of beings with rabbit-like features. These include long rabbit like ears and supple limbs. Their long feet which require them to wear high heels all the time. They also possess a heightened sense of smell, and an extremely powerful sense of hearing, which allows them to hear over long distances, as well as listen to voices in the spirit world. They can use this hearing ability very effectively, communicating with the world around them, and even summoning monsters from other worlds. They are also able to tell the difference in footsteps, helping when they are being hunted. They also have incredible eyesight, to the point it is said they can see as far as 10 km (6.21 miles) away.
Yet another trait is their very long life span, three times that of Humes, allowing them to be over fifty years old and still looking to be in their prime. All the Viera have tanned skin. Hair color differs, silver being the dominate color, though there are also those with purple hair, and some with white hair. Other color their hair black or brown when living in Hume cities.
The Viera live deep within the woods, male and female living separately from each other and only making contact/communication when the need arises. This may not be necessary due to their very long lifespan. They had lost their ancient homelands to war nearly five hundred years ago. Some of the Viera began to question their way of life and went off to live with the Humes. This is considered breaking one of their laws, known as the “Green Word”, which forbids contact with the outside world. Once a Viera breaks this law, they are considered Viera no more and regarded as outcasts. They are able to communicate with “the Wood’, suggesting their homeland of the High Trees may be some kind of living entity, though outcasts soon lose this ability.

AVOID IT.
(This list is prone to change.)

1. ORPHANS
Orphans... just... avoid them as much as you can. I mean it. I've only seen two entire biographies in my life where Orphans did NOT look cliche. Orphans are hideously overused, and while you'll probably still get accepted, the Moderators won't be keen about it.

2. TWINS
Equally as cliche. If you play it right, you should be in the clear. But be careful.

3. MARY-SUE/GARY-SUE
This should be self-explanatory. Your character is not perfect, nor will they be allowed to be. It's happened before.. Again, we will laugh at you.

4. DO NOT CONTRADICT YOUR PROFILE
One character put that he was anti-social and avoided people, yet he was still friendly and had a great personality. That doesn't make sense. Pick a personality, because you're only allowed one.
