Reflector Magic is a type of magic that allows the user to control space around themselves or others for a variety of effects. This can either be use defensively in order to protect themselves from an attack, or offensively in order to torture of even kill an opponent. This magic can even create illusions. However they cannot manipulate space in two places at once. Obviously if users of this magic were able to use all of these abilities instantly it would be overpowered and as such a few stipulations will be put into place.

First of all defending from an attack requires the same amount of magic required to use that magical attack. So a D rank will take 10 magic and so on. Next, if this magic is used to torture somebody the target is able to sacrifice the amount of magic required to cast that spell in order to negate it. This means they will take no damage, this is to prevent Reflector from becoming an auto hit magic that can instantly kill anybody.

Now, as for the actual illusions the same rules apply for both Reflector and Illusion Magic, using an illusion requires the target to be stagnant and focused. If their focus is broken or choose to or are forced to move the illusion will be broken. In addition no other types of magic can be used while using the magic. The exception to this rule is illusions that don't actually affect a target specifically and only fool onlookers such as when Ivan Dreyar was able to conceal himself and his team in the Grand Magic Games.

The reasoning for this is that these illusions will not trap anybody and rather can be used to challenge a target specifically. However these spells will be heavily monitored by staff and will be taken away if abused. In addition once an illusion has been cast the user cannot extend it or change it in some way to trap new arrivals, they must first dispel it and recast it which takes time and allows others to strike.

Also, the only way to break out of an illusion is to have somebody attack the person casting it and disrupt their concentration. The manner in which Laxus broke out is not going to be allowed in order to keep illusions balanced. Illusion mages would becomes utterly useless if everybody and their dog could break free of illusions just be expelling magical power.

Finally, if a player is under the influence of the illusion and is attacked then they are freed form the illusion. The exception to this is illusions that only affect people viewing from the outside, people inside can be attacked without the illusion dispelling.
