Hi, this is not 1.3, which we are steadily working on, but rather a side project that I'm nonetheless happy to announce. I wish I could write a more extensive announcement, but essentially, I'm interested in creating more IC content to enrich the site's setting beyond the hard system, to make the world feel more alive and detailed, and also to get the community to care more about each others' characters. I feel like it's really easy to just live in the bubble of what your own character or guild was doing, but I'd like to encourage more character interaction and knowing more about each other's RPs in general. We hope that events will be a good way of bringing the site's characters together, but aside from that, I'm also introducing Lore Moderators, who will essentially run publications that compile and produce IC content such as interviews with characters, reports on significant events, etc. Although the position has "Mod" in it, this position is not a staff position in the conventional sense. It's actually a special member title and straddles the line between OOC and IC. To give a clear example, Doret will be in charge of the site's magazine, the first issue of which will of course feature the newly-crowned Ms. Fairyland. Expect the first issue to be released sometime in the near future. The magazine will run fun content such as interviews, profiles, rumors, artwork, poetry, and all that good stuff. Besides the magazine, I'm looking for someone to manage a newspaper of sorts, which will cover notable threads, maybe summarize events, and include a little obituary. Again, just fun, flavor-stuff that will hopefully flesh out our setting. In addition to producing content, Lore Moderators will also handle calling for and receiving various kinds of submissions from members. For example, if you wanted to submit a drawing as a "photo" to the magazine, you would send it to Doret. Because this content straddles the line between IC/OOC, there will be a small jewel payment for both lore moderators, and those who submit. So there will be a small reward for participating in this stuff, but really I hope most of the appeal will be in getting to know more about the site's characters and plots. So that's about it. Look forward to cool IC content coming soon, and PM me if you're interested in managing the Newspaper, or if you have any other ideas for a type of content you'd like to manage, and I'd be happy to consider it. Actually, I'm considering the possibility of a Historian as well, although a history would be somewhat similar to the newspaper. |
