This has become my new favorite anime. Sorry Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. For this, it just keeps coming as wins for me. From the creator of Sword Art Online, this series deals with online gaming. Honestly, All I ever hear is Sword Art Online this and Sword Art Online that. I feel this Series was much better and is under credited.

In the future where everyone has a device worn around their neck called the Neuro Linker. This device is like a personal computer that wirelessly communicates with the brain. So, your eyes become the monitor, which I found cool. It's like a more awesome version of the Google Glass. It is used for virtual reality and can even fix your eyesight as seen with one of the characters, Taku.

The story is centered around a fat kid named, Haruyuki. One thing I appreciate is that the main character is fat for once. I have never seen this in an anime . . . ever. Anywho, He is bullied a lot and is very reserved. He has two friends prior to the story, but he keeps to himself even from them. His friends are Taku and Chiyuri. One day, he earns the high score in a gain and gains the recognition of an upper classman, Kuroyukihime. She talks to him inviting him to a game called Brain Burst. Brain Burst is a secret game where it can accelerate brain functions to make time seem still. They are given Burst Points which is determines the number of times they can accelerate. Every player is trying to achieve level 10 in which they will meet the creator. They must defeat other players to level up and gain more points. If they lose, they lose points. If their points reach zero, the game uninstalls and they forget everything about Brain Burst. Every player is give the copy they've installed and one copy to give to another person. If the invitation fails, they lose their extra copy of the game and the other person cannot be invited by another Burst Linker (The players of the Brain Burst). When in the game, they are given an avatar that is determined from a nightmare the night prior. Haruyuki is given a rare avatar called Silver Crow. Silver Crow is the only avatar to be able to fly. Other Burst Linkers are named after a color and then their name. So you have names like Cyan Pile, Lime Bell, Scarlet Rain, Red Rider, Black Lotus, and the such. Haruyuki will have to defeat the 9 Kings in order to reach level 10. The Kings had made a truce not to attack each other. Only the Kings have reached level 9.

Anyway, this series is just solid all the way through. Even during the slow parts, it sets up for other characters build. I really connected with the characters. Haruyuki (Silver Crow) is my favorite character. I really felt on the same page with him since I don't have many friends and I am overweight. I even cried a couple of times for Haruyuki during his character developement. It is nearly impossible to cry for me. The fight scenes were always entertaining to watch. They were exciting and engaging. something that I feel Sword Art Online lacked. Sword Art Online barely had any noteworthy fights. Maybe two or three. Sword Art Online had quite a few. The message in this anime is that no matter who you are, you can achieve great things if you set your mind to it.

There are some little things that said pure win. First thing first, Silver Crow reminds me of a Toku hero, which lead me to the series. Another thing is that the theme song is sung by an artist by the name of May'n. She also sings Giant Step and Cosmic Mind for Kamen Rider Fourze. Chasin' the World is a great opening for the series. The second opening is sort of blah. The villain of the series doesn't show up till half way through. He is a good villain if you get me to feel more than just "Oh he is a villain" feeling. Like Enter in Go-Busters made me think he is a brilliant villain, this one makes me hate his guts so much. There is also a a direct reference to Sword Art Online when Haruyuki is looking up old models of the Neuro Linker and comes across the Nerv Gear.

Over all, I absolutely love this series and highly recommend it to anyone willing to give it a chance. I need to find me a Silver Crow figure on the double.

I like how you dealt with a lot of aspects of the show in great detail, albeit I think you did miss one thing that I found very interesting about the show; the artwork. almost all of the characters in their real world aspects were amazingly illustrated, especially when it came to they eyes which absolutely captivating. Everyone that is other than the main protagonist who looked as if he were scanned in through a pencil drawing. I do admire the artwork that was used on him but it was a very large contrast compared to the other characters that at time, I found that he looked simply out of place.

His love interest, Kuroyukihime-senpai was without a doubt an amazing character that possessed a depth which you just don't seem to find in some characters nowadays. She was -in my opinion- the best and most beautiful character to look at, both real world aspect, butterfly princess aspect and Burst Link aspect. Her Burst world form, the Black King; Black Lotus, was an awesome piece of mecha artwork in my own opinion. The way it worked and the curse it put on it's user, to not be able to hold hands with anyone is without a doubt a horrible fate to meet for a character as lonely as hers.
