A.D. 2019

A large asteroid crashed onto Earth in the middle of the Arctic. Researchers and scientists were drawn towards the crash site for extraterrestrial research, have discovered that the asteroid had brought with it an abundant amount of some mysterious substance, seemingly capable of continuously generate a large amount of unidentified energy from nothing. It was colloquially named Dark Matter, aptly named for its appearance.

A.D. 2020

There was a great breakthrough from the scientific community, as they have managed to create a new technology that is capable of directly utilizing the energy being generated from the Dark Matter discovered at the asteroid crash site in the Arctic last year. Named Dark Energy for ease of reference, the discovery and utilization of a seemingly infinite power source proved to be the first step in massively advancing technology as humanity knew it. Despite the brilliant prospect however, the Dark Matter itself was limited in its number. Only select few were able to obtain the technology.

A.D. 2033

Over the past few years, the media had been reporting a series of worrying, if seemingly disconnected happenings. Due to the fact that only select few were able to obtain the new Dark Matter technology, namely superpowers or multinational corporation, they had been able to impose monopoly on nearly every related field of their interest. This led to a series of breakdown on parties that were not able to obtain the technology, leading many of them to be shut down within only a few years. In other news, the scientific community seemed to have discovered a previously unknown side effect caused by Dark Matter, seemingly degrading the environment around the mysterious substance itself. The scale of this effect is very minute, but the scientific community were worried this would lead to a long term risk and immediately urged for those in ownership of Dark Matter technology to stop using them. They refused..

A.P. 0
The first human space colony, Pioneer, launches into space marking the dawn of human's space age.

A.P. 100
The first fleet of colony ships, known as Pioneer 2, takes to space, and begin to transverse the universe.

A.P. 125
Earth comes under attack by an unknown enemy who have come to be known as the "Darker". The Darker wipe out the human settlements, and force humans to withdraw into space.

A.P. 150
Earth is completely destroyed by the Darker, and the true nature of their species is finally discovered. The Darker infect the environment, and everything in the environment, causing native species to become hostile, while polluting the land, and draining it of life until the planet dies.

A.P. 175
Mankind organises the final fleet of colony ships, known as "Oracle", and create the Oracle Council. The Oracle Council create a military organisation known as ARKS who are trained to eliminate the Darker.

A.P. 180
ARKS becomes a fully established organisation, and recon work on planets officially begin. The planets Amduscia and Lillipa are deemed to be the safest planets to start work on.

A.P. 195
Research on Amduscia and Lillipa show Amduscia is not suitable for colonisation due to the surface being covered in volcanos, and a dragon species inhabiting most of the land. The floating continents on Amduscia, however, are found to be suitable locations for colonisation. Lillipa is discovered to have very little water, and thus is mostly desert, but has a complicated underground system of tunnels indicating an advanced civilisation with sophisticated technology.

A.P. 235
The planet, Naberius, is discovered. Early research suggests that the planet is very similar to Earth, and hopes for colonisation is high.
