^ A new mix of franchises? First Alien vs Predator and now Star Trek vs Godzilla? As Spock would say...fascinating. :D

Congrats Mike. Seems you changed your mind on the manufactured home in a small mobile home park you were talking about a month ago.

My place was a fixer upper too and I got it for a lot less than what I was prepared to pay for a ready to move in home. However I got to fix it up the way I wanted, had the flooring and the bathrooms all redone and all the rooms repainted instead of a house that someone else had done the way they wanted. I still ended up spending less than what I would have paid for another home and my place is now worth a lot more than what I paid for it.

Good luck with the new place. Keep us updated on how it's going.
Thanks. I'm glad I didn't rush into that mobile home ... In the end I decided it was too small for the cost and wouldn't fetch as much in resale after a few years. Since I started my search, I've been looking at fixer uppers for that reason alone - so I could make the place my own. I'm paying a little more than I originally expected but it's a sound property and in a great neighborhood.

Good decision. When buying, you are not necessarily buying for now but also buying for the future. There are many considerations actually. I have a friend who bought a small newly built place 2 or 3 years ago but already is regretting it because they are realizing that they will have trouble reselling it so will not make much off the property when they do sell. The size limits the potential buyers. Location is also a big consideration. Your home is not just a property but an investment.

Ringling Bros. circus to end ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ after more than 100 years

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/the-failure-of-hoopla-ringling-bros-circus-to-end-the-greatest-show-on-earth-after-more-than-100-years

It will be the end of a long tradition but circuses have been getting a lot of heat from animal groups in recent years. No truth to the rumour that it was the creepy clowns that caused the end of the circus. :D

Anyone here go to this or other circus before? What are your memories?
