This thread contains some legacy and old HX stuff that some people might be interested to see especially if you like the game. The development of Helixteus began on the 5th January 2014, 10:31:00 AM GMT +11 time. 6th January 2014, 1:20:37 PM There was nothing in the game apart from the epic title screen animating, and some code that lays out tiles. ![]() ![]() ![]() 16th January 2014, 7:30:40 AM 11 days after the start of development, the game was progressing well. The planet system code was implemented, and the tile thing was working as new. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 21st January 2014, 2:25:29 PM The game now has a preloader! Progress never ceased to disappear. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, that is a display bug. ![]() Fast forward to 3rd June 2014, 12:51:04 PM because I do not have any versions saved between the two dates. ![]() There was originally going to be a TD aspect in the game (accessible by clicking the Helixteii that randomly appear on tiles) but was later scrapped. ![]() ![]() Back then you couldn't zoom out your science tree. Very inconvenient. ![]() ![]() Horrid UI. ![]() Yep, no sun. ![]() Every sun was originally going to be yellow, but it changed. ![]() Ah, I remember how hard it was fixing the collision detection bug. It bugged me for several days. ![]() You couldn't even go to a planet from this list. ![]() Not too much different from what it is now. 10th June 2014, 10:18:36 PM The font for smaller text has been changed to Impress BT so they are more legible. ![]() Sun! ![]() ![]() 13th June 2014 (Friday the 13th!), 5:46:45 PM ![]() The game resembles more and more to what it is now. ![]() ![]() 7th July 2014, 6:07:15 PM ![]() You can now actually zoom out your science tree after all this time! ![]() You can also now visit a planet via the universal planet stats panel. ![]() Different coloured suns and multisolar systems! ![]() ![]() aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's it! The progress of the game was something like that. Edited by Apple0726, Aug 7 2014, 11:03 AM.

Very interesting progression! I can only wait with bated breath to see what the game will look like in four or five months from now! I really hope you continue with this game as your main project because it's already incredibly addicting and has a ton of room to grow! |

I don't have any ideas of a new project that could be as successful as this game, so for now I'll stick to updating this game until the game is dead (nobody longer plays it). |

That's good to hear! On a site like kongregate I doubt you'll ever get to the point where no one's playing your game : ) I'm pretty sure it'll only grow bigger as word of mouth spreads honestly! Not many games are rapidly evolving the way yours is. |
