The Global Treaty Organisation (click here to sign-up) is a free, fully democratic government which includes regions, non-regional alliances and also independent nations. The GTO allows all its members to take part in elections for government positions, elections for regional/non-regional alliance representatives, submit proposals for new legislation and vote for the legislation you proposed.

The GTO Government

Governor General - Oversees GTO and can veto (cancel) any passed legislation. This can be stopped if 50% of the seats sign a petition (I've seen this - it's a very simple system).

President - Leader of the GTO. Gets 10 seats.

Vice-President - Secondary leader of the GTO. Becomes President if the President resigns. Gets 5 seats.

Foreign Affairs Minister - In charge of GTO embassies and foreign policy. Gets 4 seats.

Military Commander - In charge of GTO armed forces and can coordinate military action. Gets 4 seats.

Representatives from regions and non-regional alliances have 2 seats. All other nations (including independent nations) have 1 seat. The Foreign Office is a region so you are members of a region.

1 seat = 1 vote

More Important Information

The GTO is simply a government - it has no forums as it is meant to work alongside other governments. The GTO is a bit like the United Nations or the WA in that you can vote for new legislation and deal with foreign affairs through the GTO website. Absolutely everybody can join the GTO (even die-hard communists, if they wanted to) and it is totally democratic.

All members will be alerted (via telegram messages on NationStates - or any other preferred method of communication) when there are elections they can take part in, when new proposals for legislation are submitted and when the legislation is being voted on. Members will also be told about major incidents like acts of war, major discussions about issues like foreign relations or emergencies and will also be given a quick summary of how many seats they have and how many seats there region/non-regional alliance has (unless they are an independent nation).

If you decide to leave the Foreign Office after signing up with the GTO, you can still take part by switching to a different region/non-regional alliance or you could become an independent nation. But I'd prefer it is you stayed with us. ;)

The Foreign Office has its own newspage - click here to go there. We are due to hold elections for the Foreign Office Representative on 30th October 2012 - nominate yourself.

I think that is everything. I'll update this page if something changes. Please click here to sign-up with the Global Treaty Organisation. All members of regions need to sign-up to take part in the GTO. (Sorry this is so large - I just want to get everything into one place)

I would be more than happy to employ my puppet, New Arthurian Camelot to volunteer as a representative for us. This will allow the puppet to be in their region to be able to post on their message board and be further recognized, whilst I.S.C remains in Foreign Office to primarily deal with our affairs.
